Sheep's crossing and Red creek trail 9/25/11

Hey gang, a group of us are going out to sheep's crossing on Saturday 9/25. We plan on running red creek trail while we're there and most of us are camping Saturday night(optional). If you're interested post up and I'll give you the info.

Northeast of Cave Creek on the Verde river North of horseshoe dam.
North of Scottsdale and Bartlett lake.
We will be crossing the river and the water will be about 30" deep maybe less.

What mods do you have on your jeep? Lift ect . Curious to see if mines capable of crossing the river too.. It has a 2" body lift and 2" suspension lift with 31.5/12.5/15s and my air filter is up by the battery so I'm assuming it will make it..

I've been checking the water report daily. last weekend it was scouted and was 3' deep at the main crossing with the flow at 236 cubic ft second. Today the flow is at 158! which should put depth at about 2'. As for my rig, 4" lift, 33" km2's, and a snorkel. However, I've been headlights deep there without a problem. Scarred me a little so I recently put a snorkel on. There are a couple jk's on 35's going in my group. Probably about 10 jeeps altogether. I think at least half of us are camping Saturday night.

There will also be 2 Cherokees on 31's in our group so I don't think you'll have a problem.

I saw that pic of you headlights deep that's without a snorkle?? Did your cab fill up, engine sputter, anything??? Or did you just motor right through it? I got a little worried first time my exhaust was underwater lol

motored through it. but that pic was on the return crossing and i got stuck on the bank temporarely coming out and the back took on water( 6" from the top of the back seat). the flow was pretty fast that day and pushed me past the exit point. this is not the crossing we need to ford, however it was at the same place, just further down stream. i think my spare tire was helping to keep me afloat that day. lol

Hey Rob, how did this trip turn out? Any pics? We just did a trail on table mesa from the I17 thru 7 springs rd. Nice country out there. Anymore info on the trail? Technical? My jeep is a work in progress. Just did 3.5' RE lift with 33's.
Thanks,
Brooks
