I've only done it once before, but as I recall it's not too hard overall. There are a couple of spots that can be a little tough but there are bypasses if you feel you can't make it. (I took most of the bypasses last time but I'm going to try the tough parts this time.)

I'd bet a F150 could make it, some turns are quite sharp, and might require multi point turns. Unless he's lifted on larger tires, expect some undercarriage bruising. I was just there. read my report at the link below:

Seeing as I was just there, and that I'll likely be going to Ruby, Az on the 28th, I think I'm out for this one. Next time.....

Have fun at the gap! It's not too hot up there. I rode it on my dirt bike last week. There wasn't any water on the back side when I was there though. Hopefully, there is some now.

Meet at 0600 and leave the Valero by 0630.

Post up if you are going or not, so that we are not wasting time waiting on people who are a no show.

Wish I had been able to join you all, being in Korea sure does cut into my offroading time. Home now though and can't wait to get back on the trails.

I believe there is a run planned for the end of the month but I think that's all for now. In the mean time, I''e been asking around to see if anyone wants to get together for a meet-n-greet / wrenching party.

Okay, here's the lates update from the JKO guys:

Lower Mansfield tentatively scheduled for Saturday, August 24th.
Meet at Roadrunner Market as usual @ 6:00am, leave at 6:30am.

Mod party at Murray's place either on Saturday, September 7th or Saturday, September 14th. Whichever day works best for everyone.

I would be interested in both runs - I have never been to Mansfield. Johnny I would head to chiva with you also.

My normal group is talking about going on a run on the 11th also - not sure where right now but should know more mid week.

What do you guys run with on the trail CB or walkie talkies? I have both but want to try out the CB!

You guys can txt or call me about trips.
