True, it's on the 25th now. It's not too bad, there are bypasses on most of the hard parts as I recall.

What do you guys run with on the trail CB or walkie talkies? I have both but want to try out the CB!

You guys can txt or call me about trips.

I'm available for pretty much anything right now.

As far as the communications go, we pretty much run the full gambet from full CBs to hand helds, to nothing at all

Anyone interested in establishing a Jeeps & Coffee reoccurring gathering? I know a few car clubs around town do it.

Maybe once a month r every two months on a Saturday or Sunday morning? Someplace with a large parking lot, and food available?

I'm just thinking that something like this would only be a couple hours, get us together to shoot the s**t and I'd assume more guys could make it if it were just a meet and greet type of thing.

Good idea but sundays are usually better since saturdays are mostly for wheeling.

We could take over some hippie liberal coffee shop but then Lyle would be shunned by his people.

Or a Starbucks, since they allow carry of weapons in their stores.

Crap, I missed this one. Had I been able to plan, I would have liked to be there.

Here are the runs the JKO folks are currently planning for the rest of the month.

Hope to meet you on the next run! This run was fun...not to much water but enough I guess.

It was a pleasure meeting John and Jason. Cant wait for the pictures from the run! Looking forward to meeting more Tucson folks.

Opps!

Lower Mansfield run; Sunday, August 25th

Chimney Rock night run; Saturday, August 31st. Camping for those who want to. I'm trying to get my youngest to tag along.

Mod party; Sunday, September 15th

Also, I think there may be a Chiva run this weekend.

What are your favorite jeep trails south of Tucson, west of I-19 and north of Arivarca?

I have a new JKUR and am anxious to explore that area. On the map, it is threaded with many dirt roads. I'd appreciate anyone's opinions about the most interesting routes.

crown king is 2-3 but anything challenging has a bypass. a 2wd car can do 3/4 of the trail if they use the bypasses. a jeep can do all of it in 2wd if u so choose the bypasses

So no runs this weekend?

If anyone needs new shocks let me know. I have 4 Rubicon Express shocks for a 2.5"- 3.5" lift. Only have about 300 miles on them and they never got to the trail. I only got rid of them because my lift is closer to 4.5" and they were limiting my droop

I also have a set of AEV drop brackets, used for about 2 months and a full set of OEM arms.

I wonder how they would do compared to my RC 2.2 shocks?

You won't accurately know until you have the experience. However, I would say the difference in ride quality to be insignificant.

Not sure, the RE shocks are bilstein shocks with the RE name. This is the shock I replaced:

Rubicon Express Part RXJ713 - Mono-Tube Shock Absorber-RH2

Aside form ride maybe look at the lenght of the shock to see what might give you more droop maybe. These shocks are used in their 2.5-3.5" kits.

I am looking for $40.00 a shock.
