Badlands or Cliffs?

What place is better to take a stock TJ wheeling? Badlands or Cliffs? I've never wheeled before and I'm curious which place you guys recommend. Thanks!

Personally, i have never been to the cliffs, but i hear it's a great area. From what i hear, though, there are alot of obstacles there that can cause body damage, at least compared to badlands. If you are concerned about that, especially for your first run, i would recommend badlands. I have been to badlands two weeks ago and plan on going down again this weekend with Great Lakes Jeep Thing.

I went last week to badlands in my stocker TJ and had a blast. got stuck twice, not badly. just due to low ground clearance with stock tires. Did orange trail as well as the quarry and some of the others with little issues. most of the bad obstacles there can be bypassed if you don't think you can make it or would like to make an attempt once or twice before going around. Would definitely recommend badlands, from my experience.

the guys with the club were really surprised with what my little stocker could make it through.

Thanks for the info. I plan on going with a friend and we're only taking my jeep. Are there enough people out there to help if I got stuck? I don't want to go out there and be the only one wheeling since its my first time.

I'd love to go then, but I'll be out of town.

Badlands is great for stock rigs. I had great luck with my tj there. You have to watch it in some areas there are holes that like to swallow stock jeeps whole. You can still do tons of wheeling though.

The cliffs isn't that bad, they just groomed the main trails. 1 and 3 are smooth enough to drive a buick through. When its dry there are plenty of trails that stockers run through w/at & mt's. Attica is awesome too but depending on where u live and drive time the Cliffs is a good place to get a taste of wheelin.
