How do i remove this plate? i've looked all over short of removing the control panel for the ac/heat...

Whatcha gonna put there? I too am thinking it's a potential space for "something"... even if its something mounted ON the plate...

actually, arming switches... for lighting/compressor/anything else i can fit on it...

There are two phillips screws under the defrost panel you will need to remove then you can pull off the main panel. The ashtray/switch panel has four more phillips srews holding it to the dash. That flat spot make a nice space to mount a few rocker switches
