| Banned from another car wash
It would seem that when I went through my local car wash the first two times without a problem that the third time would be no big deal. Then again, with 35's just put on and a 4.5'' lift, I did not think it through. I pulled up to the entrance and immediately was told to leave. lol. Then I convinced the owner that I have been through it before not thinking it had been when I had my 32's. He said fine whatever I'm not responsible and off I went. First, I got stuck. The moving track could not grab the tire because it was too wide for the rails. Second, the machine stopped and I just sat there blocking the increasingly long line of people. I was told to drive through slowly and when I got to the other side not to come back. So I took my flippin' time! Yeah I decided hell with this place, they can keep my 7.00 and go to hell...maybe quadratec will install a lifted vehicle wash one day...

i thought you were banned for the same reason i couldn't go to car washes, and that was the 50 pounds of mud i left behind in the stall. then the attendant would have to come in with a shovel and a bucket.
don't understand the problem though, cuz we jeepers spend about 30 bux in them when we do that.

The manager of the local car wash complained my van was "too dirty", he told me to get out (unwashed) but refused to give my money back! The van wasn't all that dirty, not muddy, just had road dirt from a trip on it.
He really got mad when I asked him what car wash he recommends to take it to to get it clean enough to bring it to him - pre car wash?
"He only accepts clean cars to wash?"
He got a chance to read all about his stupidity in the letters to the editor of the local paper.
Who's ever heard of a pre-car wash?

Yeah you guys are right, eff those "fancy" car washes. I'd rather watch some rich bastard pull in with a brand new M45 to get...even cleaner?

after my trips off road, i was at the same car wash, same bay every time.
the local ricers HATE my ass. but i always spend at least a extra buck after i pull my jeep out to get the BIG mud piles in the drain... not to mention, my old truck could only be beaten in a one block "drag" by 3 of them in town.
one night they threatened to beat my ass, slash my tires, then take my quarters, my reply was, walked over to the truck, reached into the back, grabbed a couple 12 gauge shells, they heard the click of 4 shells, then the cha-chink of one goin in the chamber, and one more click of it bein loaded, then they were GONE!
it is only the gay ass ricers that have a BIG problem with me. if it is nice out and they are all still there in the parking lot i pull in, get the change, wash and leave the mud in the stall to tick them off. but when i do they still try to stop me. but normally they get out of the way of a big loud truck bookin it.

mikes car wash has never given bre any problems with her 35x12.5'' tires..
most the time we let our jeeps sit out until it rains and washes most the mud off then we wash them.. or we just use the carwash in the badlands parking lot (the offroad park we go to)

I was lucky yesterday I got covered in mud and pulled infront of a do it yourself carwash I preceded to spray off my jeep. Meanwhile the owner of the car wash pulled up in his 77 CJ5. I finished spraying off my Jeep and started to spray the floor of the carwash to clean up the mess the owner walked up and said thank you for spraying the floor. He handed me a bunch of tokens. He was pretty cool. If I lived closer to that place I would go there everytime I needed to wash my jeep.

Around here in south Texas they look at any lifted vehicle that pulls into a bay. If my wife takes the jeep then they just stand around and watch, if I go they tell me to leave and that my kind is not allowed there. I have a friend that owned a car wash and he told me that it cost around $40,000 to pump that crap out of the drains and that the more mud, the more often they have to have it pumped per the EPA. I hose it off in the side yard and then go to the car wash around midnight.

What is a car wash? Isn't that what the yard sprinklers are for?

$40,000 to have it pumped out? More like $400 or less. It's the same as pumping out a septic tank, only easier since it's easier to access.
But it does clog up the sumps pretty fast. Why not be a little a little courteous to the owners - use a hose to knock off most of the big chunks somewhere else. Being selfish and even abusive gets, and keeps, 4 wheelers having a bad name.
If lots of mud is caked on underneath, parking over a sprinkler does a pretty good job getting off the big chunks then finish at the carwash. But do it in your own driveway.
