how do you know if you have a black diamond or black denim top i want to buy some tinted windows for my jeep but i want them to match my top. i dont know if it matters what i get

There are slight variations in the two colors. Not sure how to tell one from the other though. Just to let you know it will matter.

The black denim has a slightly lighter color and kind of flat look even in the sun.The black diamond is a black black and kind of shiny in the sun light.

black diamond are for 2003 and later year TJs. prior to that it is black denim.

so depends on the year of your softtop

I had black denim besttop doors with my black diamond softtop and couldnt tell much difference. But if you want it to match than check what year your jeep softop is.

Black Diamond is sailcloth and it started in 01. 01 Was a 4 ply material. 03 was 3 ply. I have an 01 top and it's Black Diamond

Both look black to me.

Well, they both are black.

But one has these little points in it. Gives it a nice look. Less flat.

I can tell the difference on my monitor, but it is really hard to have photos of cloth, especially black cloth.

I tried.

the black denim changed to black diamond on the 2003 TJ's. I bought new upper doors with the black denim for my Jeep and learned that is wasn't an exact match. It still looks fine....but if you have an 02 or older go w/ denim...03 or newer go with diamond. I hope this helps
