I just recently (about 2 months ago) put on a 2.25 inch bb and a 1 inch body lift with the skyjacker hydro shocks. The front rides great, besides my sway bar link is broke, disos are ordered... but the rear is horrible! Every bump and dip in the road is like i have hydraulics installed. There is no wheel hop just i bounce up and down like the rear is on a trampoline or something. Anyone got any ideas on why this could be. I put the shocks on the back upside down so the piston rod/shock boot is closest to the ground, could this cause such an umcomfortable ride? anyone else experience this before, i mean its very annoying to get sea sick just driving home from work...

First, exactly what shocks did you install? Hydraulics? Gas-charged nitros? Rancho? ProComp? And there are a lot of 2" BBs around but I haven't heard of a 2.25" BB, who made it.

Also, precisely what tire pressure are you running, particularly in the rear?

It was a 4x4 store online 4 wheel customs or something. Psi on rears is 45 give or take a few pounds. I can even stand on the rear bumper and bounce and it is ridiculously bouncy. Its almost like there isn't any shock there at all...I know what that feels like. They are the skyjacker hydro shocks both front and back and like I stayed the front is good.

HOLY SMOKE that 45 psi tire pressure is WAY too high, that's the reason for your stiff ride especially since the Skyjacker Hyrdos are well known for having a very good ride.

If you inflated the tires to 45 psi because the sidewall said 45 psi, understand the air pressure molded onto a sidewall is only it's maximum allowable safe air pressure for when the tire is carrying its maximum permissable load which of course your tires are not... they are carrying no more than around 50% of their rated load so you'd never run even close to the air pressure molded onto the sidewall.

I don't know what size tires you're running but if you're running 31" tires, around 30-31 psi is fine or 32-33 when the Jeep is fully loaded with passengers and luggage. For 32" tires, 29-30 psi is about right, or maybe 31-32 psi when fully loaded.

I have the Skyjacker Hydros and haven't experienced this at all in the rear. if anything, sometimes they feel too stiff. Why install them upside down? is that a trend that I've never heard of or something?
