i just bought a 97 jeep tj w/4.0 and an auto. it has a rough idle and will die if throttle is released quickly..it has a hard code p0122..tPS low circuit a(that will not clear) and on occasion will set a P0123 TPS high voltage, but will clear..the jeep also has no instrument cluster guage functions, check engine light, and no radio power,wouldnt even chime with key on.. but it does have headlights,wipers, turn signals, HVAC works, and cluster will light with headlights on. i have checked all fuses, performed bulletin on IP grounds on the passenger and driver side.have also checked connections at cluster..to ignition switch..and followed wires the best i could. i dont know if these problems are related or not, but i read on line that the tps is grounded by the clocking spring or the ignition switch..any help would be great.
