Default Fog light mounting spots on stock bumper??

Are the 4 holes on the stock front bumper on my 04 wrangler x made for mounting the fog lights?? mine never came with them and i was goin to buy some, or do i have to drill holes into my stock bumper

ok so which holes are for mounting the fog lights?? and what are the 2 bolts that appear to be big allen head screw drivers bolts?

no need to drill, the factory holes are big enough.

If you are using factory foglights your fine, they use the round hole infront of the square hole there on your bumper. For aftermarket lights the hole "might" have to be enlarged some to fit.

The bolts your talking about there hold your bumper to the jeep frame. They are "TORX" bolts not allen. If you plan on doing much to your jeep I suggest you pick up a set of GOOD torx sockets and wrench. Half of your jeep is put together with them.

Default bumper holes

The outer bolt holes are for your bumper ends that someone took off?

solo - Those torx mount the hooks to the bumper to the frame, not just for the hooks.

On either end of the bumper is an extension piece (plastic I believe) that goes out about 8". It's basically the ends/corners of the front bumper.

It is kind of odd you have the stock front bumper and someone just took the ends off though...

I actually did my first mod on my 06 wrangler X. I went to Pepboys with a buddy and found a pair of KC Daylighter 223 for 100 bucks. So I got em and the hardest part of the installation was drilling new holes in my stock bumper. The bolts in the lights are 3/4". The stock holes are 3/8". It wasnt that much work to do it and I ran the wire from the switch (which is mounted where the four switch templates are) through the grommet in the firewall on the driver side, up the driver side of the hood and dropped it down right behind the headlight. Spliced in the driver side light, ran the wire through the hollow tube in the bumper to the passenger light. I managed to hide everything well enough except for the silver conduit that I wanted to show. Took me about 2 hours to do everything but that was mixed in with talkin time and smoke breaks. Now that I have the lights, I naturally need a lift and new tires. and so the mod bug begins...

I agree. I took off both front and rear and threw them in the trash.

Cobra,
I got the long range lights, if I had to guess, they would be 6" diameter lights. I got my first shot to use 'em tonight and holy SH*T they are bright...I saw the reflection in a deer's eye about 300 ft down the road. For 100 bucks I believe that they are an excellent investment. What I don't get and maybe someone can help me out on this, a weaker (candlepower wise) set of slimlighters were going for 200 a pair. Is it just because they're slimmer? Weird if you ask me...

Cuz they Ugly!

Most people don't like the look of them, they are like big 'milk jugs' bolted to the bumper, and not much thicker than that either.......so they serve no real purpose.....other than being the 1st thing to make contact with anyhthing you get too close too which renders them dented immediately... especailly on the trail. My guess is your Previuouse Owner tagged one of them at the mall....and decded to just take em off.

The box came with the switch, inline fuse, splicers, grounding connections, and 21 ft of wire. For once, I bought something from pepboys that had everything needed to make it work and didn't have to go back! the 21 ft of wire was just right for how I wired it.
