Hair pulling time

Well I've stuck my head and test light an multimeter into every nook and cranny I can think of and still can't get the turn signals/hazard lights to function on my 97 TJ...only thing I have accomplished is finding a new problem..my ignition switch doesn't seem to have a working ACC function.
Going clockwise it goes from lock..to nothing ..to run..to start. Maybe not having a ACC function also effects my turn signals but I don't know why it would...I'm not to impressed with the electrical schematic in my Haynes repair manual. Nowhere does it show where grounds are located...it shows the code G300 which i believe is supposed to be a reference....but no where does it show where to find the G300 ground location.

Well maybe its time to just leave the door off and use hand signals for turning...I think I remember them from back in the old days when turn signals where optional equipment....

Dang I must be old..

Maybe a dumb question - but have you replaced the flasher with a dealer replacement yet? (the part stores ones can be a bit crappy sometimes)

replaced part

Well I've put two flashers in it just to make sure...they came from NAPA ...and I did have the man check to make sure it was the flasher that was called for...think it was an EP-27...

I believe an have been told it is a grounding problem..but I just can't seem to find out what the problem is...

The flasher connector has three wires...an input..an output..an a ground
I have voltage at the input and output..and when I check the ground wire it shows it is grounded...but...if I pull the cover off the relay and use my test light to ground the flasher on the inside circuit board ...then the flashers work...but the flasher clicks constantly....

I'm thinking now maybe the problem is in the turn signal switch itself...not sure...maybe the flasher has to only have a ground when the turn signal switch is on..left or right...

Guess i need to find someone who is better at reading a schematic than what i am...lol. I can do the testing if I know what to test and what I should be seeing or reading on either a test light or multimeter.

thanks for the help

Bill
