So I really want to go to long arms, any suggestions? Comments? etc...On kits, DYI, etc.

I am thinking of selling my motorcycle to fund this little project, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

So far as I'm concerned, the two best brands include Clayton and Rubicon Express. Personally, I've been running my RE long arm for nearly five years and it's been problem-free. It isn't the easiest (neither is Clayton's) to install when compared to a short arm suspension kit but it sure is nice once you get it installed. There's a few spots that need to be welded on the RE kit, and I think the Clayton is the same way.

Personally, I'd avoid Tera's and Fabtech's (especially!) long-arm kits if I were installing another. Full-Traction is supposedly good but I'm not all that familiar with it. At least FT got away from using heim joints for everything like they used to.

Full traction is really good. but i hear nothing but good things about RE

what would be a good size for a long arm kit? I'm really not in a position to drop 2k+ on a RE 4.5"

I plan on running 33's with the Super 35 kit for my rear end. I want to have flexibility and such.

Currently my 99 Sport came with a ProComp 2 in lift with stabalizers.

Rock Krawler, Rubicon Express & Clayton.

If and when I ever get to really play with my TJ, I plan on stretching it and both Clayton and RockKrawler make stretch versions. I'm really happy with my RE short arm kit, but can see where some improvements are needed with it and the long arm versions. I really like the Rock Krawler kits for their simplicity. Clayton's kits are like an RE kit, but seem to be engineered a bit more.

The Rubicon Express instructions leave a lot to be desired but anyone with some mechanical skills will be able to figure it out. The only problem I had (I guess I'm lacking in the mechanical skills area) is that I welded the rear shock brackets on too high and bottomed out the rear shocks. Ruined both of them. At almost $90 a piece, OUCH!

Im currently looking into long arms too. I dont want to open a can of worms, but has anyone run the nth degree long arm since it was released by AEV? I saw it in person before the closure and fell in love, but never rode in it. Any opinions by someone who actually runs it?

I know nothing about that particular long-arm kit Coyote but with Nth Degree and AEV both being very solid companies with very good reputations for well designed and solid well thought-out products, I'd sure give that one a good close look.

1997 Triumph Sprint with 16K miles.

Well you saw how my FT kit did. Gotta say I do love it. Flex's very well and rides nice. Just a little squeky, but then again I didnt grease it up yet. Id say RE or FT if you liked what you saw at Harlan on my rig.

I've been running the rubicon express 4.5" long arm and have had very good luck. No odd noises and rides better than stock.
