| PICS - Warning - Poser Driveway Pics -- Finally
OK, I finally got my act together and was able to get some pictures or my rig. My apologies for the late reply to some of you who have been waiting. This was a bone stock Sport X (I-6 auto) when I got back in March and the Jeep bug has consumed me ever since.
It's been almost 20 years since I had my last Jeep and I must say I am overwhelmed with the advances on the platform and most of all how the tradition has carried on through the membership.
This is my daily driver. My son and I hit the trails every chance we get on the weekends so it sees some serious duty and I will say it has not missed a challenge once. I will post additional pics when I get them together.
Hope you enjoy my ride as much as I do. Please feel free to add your comments or suggestions.
Specs:
RE 3.5" SuperFlex kit
RE montube shocks
Super Swamper TSL Radials (33" x 10.5") on stock rims
Rugged Ridge SRC front and rear bumpers
Milemarker 9500C Winch
Hella Rally and Aux. Fog light
Cobra CB and K40 Antenna
Custom Shield Decal

The chain - smile thing was completely unintended but I liked it so I kept it. Besides, I needed a place to store it and it worked out OK. The rally lights were a donation from my brother-in-law who had them on his Explorer Sport Trac.,,, Hey, found parts !
I really liked all the newer stuff they have out today. I was considering adding a star on the hood and the numbers on the side and "ghost" it in silver paint to match the rims. I had that stuck in my mind since I bought and I read the other day about the Willy's version and I nearly fell out of my chair. I showed it to my son and he said to me. "Hey dad, someone stole your idea"... I guess that Jeep telepathy thing is real.
Thanks for all your support.

Looks awesome. I love 33x10.50's. Narrow is better in my opinion.

Looking real good and I don't think the lights look that big. I think it's probably just the picture. My guess is they're 6" lights.
One suggestion I have is it may be time to upgrade that steering system.

They cut through and down to the thick stuff to gain traction. Wider tires are usually just for rocks where a wider pad gets you more traction.

Of course, now that I think of it my first vehicle in the army was the M151 MUTT, thin tires and I never got stuck. I would still think narrow tires with aggressive tread would do better on narrow trails and rocks. I could be wrong. I still like the 33x10.50's best though. |
