Default Quick Disconnect Question

I got an 06 tj with 31's and a 2" BB I was thinking about quick disconnect swaybars do I need front and rear or just front? I read elsewhere just front but I want to be sure. Thanks in advance.

Only if you or someone else removed it. Look at your rear axle . . . you should see a thin bar that bends around the top of the pumpkin and has a link (probably a 6-8" plastic peice if its stock) on each side attaching it.

Well the SE is so small and light . . . LOL j/k . . . I can't say that I'm 100% as I've yet to crawl under a SE but I can't imagine why a SE would be any different as it's got to have the same basic components and the sway bars are more of a safety item.

Well wife is back and just went and looked and it don't have the rear sway bar, just wondering how different it would drive and handle with one.

You'll have to check with other SE owners but that doesn't sound right to me at all . . . are you the first owner? I don't understand why the SE would be any different.

The TJ needs a rear sway bar. It will keep the body and the wxles in a good angle. Without it you will not have more flex. With +3" of lift I would install longer rear sway bar links.

Where did she look for the rear sway bar? With the tires on it´s hard to find.

Installing some disconnects in the front will give you way more front axle travel.

Here you can see how much one front tire can go up and the other one can go down with a non-disconnected sway bar:

On these pics the one and only difference at the front suspension is a disconnected front sway bar:

Btw sorry for the ugly chrome. That are old pics...

can you stick a camaraunder there and take a handful of pics of the rear axle? from the front or driveshaft side would make it easiest to tell.

It should look like this

Rear sway bar end link (red circle).
The sway bar is between the frame (green circle).

here I am, it will be wed. before I can get a pic,it's dark when I leave and dark when I get back,I seen on the front of the axle where something has been or should be mounted to,on each side of the axle there are brackets with threaded holes that are 3" to 4" apart vertically.

Yeah that sounds about like where the bracket that hold the bushings and sway bar should be attached to the axle. Sounds like somebody's been foolin' around under your Jeep.

So it sounds like mine is the only one without a rear swaybar, so would that make it rare and worth more

I was helping a buddy wrench on his Jeep today and noticed that he's got a stock rear sway bar laying around that he'll no longer need. It's off a Dana 44 axle...I'm not sure if there's any difference when it comes to the sway bar . . . if not, let me know if you'd be interested . . . he has the bushings and mounting brackets too . . . not sure about the four bolts but that's the easy part!
