Hello.

Yesterday I wanted to install my rear SS brake line. But I couldn´t loosen the bolt of the brake line that goes to the left drum brake on the distributor block on the top of the axle.
Now I have to install a new brake line there.

Which thread do the brakes line from this block to the drum brales have?
Which ID ad OD have these brake lines?

its all standard stuff, it should be 3/16 brake line, and the fittings will be made for that line.

I need to know whcih thread these fittings have. Most of our cars over here have metric threads everywhere. But I think that I should need an inch thread because an inch wrench fit on these fitting.

the thread pitch is a standard pitch, there's only one sae thread pitch for each size. can you just bring a fitting with you to the parts store.

I can´t bring a fitting with me to the store.
It´s still installed. I wanted to buy a new brake line before I destroy the old one...

do you need to drive it to the parts store? if so, you can remove the fitting you need to match up, and since you are replacing the line, crimp it off, and it won't leak. then go to the parts store. otherwise, just get the sae and metric fittings. my money would be on 3/16, and like i said a 3/16 brake line fitting is a 3/16 brake line fitting.

Nicolas are you using a brake line wrench to get it off? Otherwise you have an excellent chance of stripping it.

No I used a normal wrench.

Get a brake line wrench and I bet you can get it off. It's going to be either a 3/8ths or 7/16ths depending on which fitting it is.

The fitting has a 3/8" thread.
Found a shop where I can buy a 15" brake line incl. the fittings for only 4.99$.

I hope that I will find a brake line wrench that fits. It was hard to find normal inch wrenches here in Europe.

You are looking for the short side line right? Check with a Jeep dealership over there and see if they have the part. I got a hold of a long side rear hard line for mine for only about 15 bucks from the dealer.

The short line on the left side of the axle costs 52 Euros (65$) at the stealership. I´ll buy a normal brake line for 5$ and bend it on my own.

Um hell yeah I'd do the same thing if it was that much. Damn that's highway robbery.

All Jeep spare parts are hat expensive over here. That´s why I order most of the parts in the US.
