I am been seeing alot of people using seafoam and hearing both bad and good things. I wanted to get some of your opions on it and see if you have ised it?

I am real leary of cures in a can. But I used Seafoam in my tank, and dumped some in the TB/IAC while it was running. Made a big difference it idles much better and the RPMS are even a bit lower while running.

I've heard it works wonders...but the throttle body method can foul up the plugs sometimes...idk. Ive been to scared to try. lol

I add it every 2-3k in every thing I drive/ride. More as a preventative than a "cure".

I sea foam all my cars through the vac line to clean out the carbon build up and such, never had a problem. I say for 12 bucks its easily worth it. Plus, it makes the damn cool cloud over the neighborhood.

While it is useful for some things, Seafoam is overused by many as a cure for everything from clogged injectors to ingrown toenails. Our Jeeps seldom need it. Personally, I'd rather use a can of $6 throttle body cleaner once in a while.

I used it on an older Bronco ('90) but doubt I would on any of my new rigs just because they are newer and don't seem to have any issues.

I haven't used Sea Foam, but I use Techron occasionally. I can't say it does any good, but it doesn't seem to hurt anything

looking to clean i've had it for a year bought it from used its a 99 wrangler

I swear by seafom. I add a full can to my fuel tank every 3000 miles when i change my oil, plus i like to add about a half can to my crankcase to. I havent put it through the vacuum lines just yet, but i probably will here in the future

The manufacturer of Sea Foam loves users like this who use it excessively. There's really no call to use it that much, especially since today's modern gasolines have more than enough cleaning additives to keep our injectors clean.

In the case of Sea Foam, it's not a case of when a little is good that a lot more is better. 181,000 miles on this Jeep and I dunno how many millions of miles on my cars in 45 years of driving and never, not once a clogged fuel injector or anything else that Sea Foam is supposed to help prevent. I might use it if the interior of my throttle body needed it but as a regular thing? Not for me, I have many other more beneficial things I'd rather waste my $$$ on. Sure it can clean out dirty throttle bodies and air intake manifolds but so can many far cheaper products. Sea Foam is not the magical additive some make it out to be.

I've used it for years and have never had a problem with it. WORKS AWESOME!

I'm not saying its a miracle cure for anything, but it worked wonders on a tapping i had coming from the engine, stuck lifter or sumthin. added half a can and its never happened again.....just sumthin i like to use to keep the old girl runnin clean

Yeah, it seems to clean things up if used once in a while. I ran it through the brake booster vac line on my Infiniti J30 when I first got it and it smoothed things out. I plan to run some through a vac line on the 91 2.5 I just picked up before I replace all the tune-up pieces (plugs/wire/cap/rotor/etc.). Just running a little rough and I figure it won't hurt.

I've always used Lucas for my fuel injector cleaner.

I only use Sea Foam to suck it through the vacuum lines to supposedly clear the carbon out of the top end of the motor, never had anything bad happen, just had some cars idle smoother, some pick up an mpg or two, some smoke a lot and not really change haha. The seafoam Deep Creep is good stuff too. I wait to do a sea foam treatment until I am ready to do plugs too, that way you've got clean vacuum lines and new plugs. Stops you from fouling the plugs out and if the sea foam didn't make a difference, the new plugs will haha.

I use the $2.99 STP throttle body cleaner from autozone, its the cheapest I've found and that stuff is just alcohol.

My friend puts seafoam in his crankcase... I don't like the idea of such a thin liquid in my oil, I add a little ATF to my oil or a bit more right before I do an oil change. Never had problems, actually has stopped one of my cars from smoking on startup, the ATF made the valve seals seal better.

But thats all personal opinions, try what works for you. As long as you don't do something horribly stupid you're not going to blow your motor.

I've used it in vehicles before...won't say it's a miracle cure, but according to folks I know who are mechanics, it does pretty well at what it's designed for. Cleaning carbon out of the engine.

yes it works but I assure you if you let it run 50 can's it will always smoke non stop

I started using seafoam on a 70 Nova(I6 250 1bbl carb) I bought for my daughter about 10 yrs ago. Just needed to clean the carb, ran a can of seafoam through the carb, wow, almost a new vehicle! I've used it ever since in everything from the lawn mower to the wife's car.

With my Jeep, I ran it through the TB when I first got it, I run some in the tank every 3-4 tanks. I run it through the TB every couple months, including putting some on a clean rag, and wiping out the inside of the TB. I've never done the vac line method, but will be in the near future.

I have used seafoam in the crankcase of other vehicles a day or so before before an oil change just to clean the inside of the engine a little better. I don't run it in the crank case just because I think it's to thin to keep in the crank case.

I also use it as a fuel stablizer for my small engine's and never have starting problems at the start of a new season.
