Soft top

Hi,
I hope someone could help me. I have a jeep TJ with a hardtop and full doors. I want to buy a used soft top on craigslist. Most of the sellers are saying that all hardware is included, but really I don't know what kind of hardware I need. I think I need a frame and door surrounds. Do I need something to attach the soft top to the windshield?

What else could I need?

I'd appreciate any help

Also.. I found a factory soft top. Is it better or worst than Bestop?

Bestop makes the factory tops, so they are the same quality. As far as hardware, you only need door surrounds if you aren't running doors, afaik. I do believe you need some sort of windshield channel, but not sure on that cause I have only a softtop. You do need the frame.

she is right bestop is the OEM soft top. you need the door surrounds for the soft top. the top of the soft top attaches to it and so do the rear windows. you shouldn't need anything to attach it to the windshield. your windshield channel should have an ovalish shaped hole on the inside driver and passenger side, and the soft top should come with hooks that latch in there to secure and tighten the top.

You also need the brackets that connect to the roll bar but those are easy to come by if they aren't included. I was doing this same exact thing this spring and was attempting to figure out all the necessary parts.

Also check to ensure there's a rear window channel and brackets.....

Finally I've got the soft top . It is OEM/factory soft top for wrangler '01. It has all hardware all of you mentioned, except of the roll bar brackets.. and again I don't know what brackets I need . The soft top is 01, my jeep is 06 and the roll brackets are available either for 97-02 (they fit my soft top) or 03-06 (they fit my jeep). I'm confused. Please don't tell me that this soft top doesn't fit my jeep

There is a jeep in the local salvage yard that still has the brackets that mount to the rollbar that then mount to your frame. I will go in and ask them how much they will cost if I take them off personally. I'm thinking the shipping would be about the same cost. They ship out ups so, if they have them, I will give you their number and you can pay them and they will ship them out to you. I will take them off if it will save you a couple of bucks.

Thanks for your help, but you don't have to. I can buy them on ebay, but just don't know if I should get 97-02 or 03-06.

You need the 03-06. The roll bar padding on the 03+ is thicker. The 03 brackets stick further out towards the rear about an inch to get past the padding.
