Sold my YJ buying a TJ. Need opinions..
Hey guys,
I think I found a TJ I might buy but want some opinions about it. And would like to know what you guys think about it and what you think about the price.
Here the details:
1999 jeep wrangler. clean inside and out 145xxx miles runs perfect . no leaks and does not burn oil. 5 speed. Ac, cruise, sport model 6 cyl. 4" lift, heavy duty steering, slip yoke eliminator, throttle body spacer, Airade air intake. 8000lb warn winch. new 33 Mt Toyo. It's got a D44.
He's asking $8700.

8700 seems fair. Obviously as you probably know, check rust, what lift it has( if it is cheap), etc. Its nice that it has a hardtop too and the Dana 44 is awesome, im sure you could talk him down a bit too

yeah I've asked him about the lift but hasn't gotten back to me yet. By the looks of it on the pictures I don't think it's anything special.

Jeep prices are all over the place. I have seen clean 99s for $5500 too. It is all about the mods and how much they are worth to you.

Yeah I've noticed that a lot too but lately here in CA they have been ranging from 6000-13000 for a 99. So it's kind of up in the air about the pricing.
But for the lift the guy got back to me and said that he believes that it is a pro comp lift since it has pro comp shocks... So I take it that he didn't put the lift on himself.

Seems like a decent price...If you DO buy it I would definitely go over it thoroughly. Check all the bushings and front end... blah blah blah... Not telling you anything you don't already know.

I'm hoping that he could Atleast come down to maybe 6500-7000. But we'll see how that goes....

Would 6500-7000 be about the right price range for this jeep? Considering what it has.

I would 7000 would be a great price but with the mods even 8500 would be decent, just make sure it doesn't look like it it was off roading and beat to hell and then cleaned up for the sale, my friend got one that had been off road all the time and he had more problems with it. Good luck man

I would pay 8. That has prob 3 grand invested in mods plus the d44 is invaluable. No headaches about axles swaps for you.

Thanks for all the replies!!
I've been talking to his wife only and tired to get as much info out of her as i can but her husband will call me and I can dig even deeper and figure out what's really put on it and then setup a time to go check it out in person.
So if it's all sound and looks good it should be in the price range of 7000-8000 maybe 8500?
