Well, I am doing a lift and larger tires It is all scheduled to come in this Friday and I hope to have it all in this saturday. Now I started to look around regarding changing the speedo gear so that I had the correct mph and such. Well I have a 3.07 axle and I am doing 33" tires. I used Quadratec's chart and it advised I would need a 26 tooth speedo gear for my 2006 wrangler 6spd. Now here's the kicker, they don't sell a 26 tooth gear for my jeep through quadratec. I know I can move up to an electric speedo control as in Superlifts but I was hoping to just do a gear. Any suggestions or ideas. I am sure this has been run across before.

I have read some of the other posts on here and I am getting even more confused now. I did some other research and it seems some jeeps can use the Superchip flashpaq calibrate speedometer or the superlift speedo claibrater. Has anyone used these before or have any other ideas for me. I am lost. Honestly not really worried about the speedo as thats simple math I am more worried about wracking up miles on the odometer.

I would say your going to be very unhappy with your bigger tires and 3.07's. Your going to be very sluggish. To the speedo gear I am having the same issue finding mine for the 5.13 gears. What year is your truck? I think when they went to the electronic you can just program them.

You will be very disappointed with 33" tires and 3.07 gears. My FIL has 31's and 3.07's on his and is not happy with it. You need 4.56's to equal factory gearing with that size tire.

Gears are a future plan. I will get there. Just trying to right the speedo now. Oh, and my jeep is a 2006 wrangler X

Have you tried the Dealer, thats where I found mine. (surprisingly)

it will show less miles on your odo that what you're actually doing.

I did try the dealer. They do not have a 26 tooth speedo gear. I also called a couple local dealers and they believe I may be able to use their scanner to change wheel size and correct speedo. Anyone done that before for an 06?

If you do have a speedo gear the dealer cannot flash your speedometer. They couldn't do my 06. Try partsmike.com that's
