Can't get the key out of the ignition or shift into / out of park?

Grab that T-handle shifter and take your anger out by yanking it right off the shaft. (Insert inappropriate joke here)

Make sure the button moves the internal mechanism.

Pull the very suggestive looking white plastic beaded thing out of the shaft. (Wrong on so many levels)

Grab a chopstick from a discarded take out bag and compare lengths. (It just never stops)

Perform a chopstickectomy. Make it 1/8 in longer than the plastic bit and whittle it to fit in the hole in the T-Handle. (Not an exact science.)

Stuff the chopstick in the shaft and bang the T-handle back into place with your palm (Tired of the parallels now.)
Done!
Unless it doesn't work, then you aren't. Try again with the other chopstiick.
Should last longer than the original beaded bit.
Go the idea from JeepForum, but haven't seen any photo sets.
