VIN Decoding 2002 Wrangler

Evening All

New to the forums, and I am liking what I am reading so far. Now that we have bought a new Dodge Journey SXT, I get to do the things to our Jeep I have wanted to for some time. I am putting together a wish list of parts, and was wondering if I can decode the build of my Jeep from the VIN as the Jeep is stateside and I am in the Middle East. I would like to figure out what I have for a rear end, etc. I was hoping that the VIN would be able to give me build specs, other wise I need to get the wife to climb under the Jeep and poke around, something she will do if I need her to, but it will cost me!! The Jeep is a 2002 Wrangler with the 4.0 FI and 5 speed. Any help or sites to look at would be great.

Thanks

If you have to ask what it is or what it does, you don't need it, and you will need help to install it!

I just e-mailed Chrysler and they sent me a complete build sheet with what came on my 04 Sahara. Very nice about it and no charge!

Thanks for the tip, I emailed Jeep from the Chrysler Website and requested my build and they sent it out via email. Now I have a list of everything we got when we bought the Jeep.

Here's the Chrysler Link. I just sent my request. Let's see how long it takes.

Hit the button in bottom right hand side "contact us" and the form will open.
