Wheels, Wheels, And Wheels

I have a question well two to be exact. I own a 2000 Jeep Wrangler 4.0 with after market wheels on it currently. I am interested in purchasing new aftermarket wheels for it. Although I am uncertain on one thing. When jeeps come from the factory what is the backspacing that they come with. From what i can see you can increase tire size without adding fender flares since the state I live in you are not allowed to increase the flare size past the factory specs. Also is it ok to go with a 3.75 or a 4 inch backspacing on my jeep without it causing any problems?

Thanks,

GoTopLes

Would you live in PA? Anyway, most factory wheels have around 5.5 back spacing. I know I ran 3.75 on with 15x8's and needed extended flares. Would you be able to use factory rubicon flares, as they stick out a bit more or what about bushwacker as they where offered from the factory on the tomb raider ruby's?
