Jeep/4x4 repair course?
I was wondering if anyone knows of such a course/class to do this? I'm not a new jeep owner, but I really don't know much besides changing oil and basic fluids... i wanna learn how to work on my axles, suspension, electrical, etc... my local vocational school offers basic and "advanced" automotive courses, but I was thinking of something more tuned for 4x4 folks... any ideas?
I know my local community college offers a chrysler, ford, and gm specific program.. but it's a 2 year program and im not sure what is like that in your area. The best way to do it is get with a club and make friends who have basically a at home garage that they tinker with there stuff in.. but it takes time to make friends like that..
Best bet is probably pay the man and see what your local colleges offer. Go to your local 4wd/Jeep shop if you have one and talk to them. They might be able to guide you on whats around you and what path they took to learn as much as they did to be able to work in a shop like that.. not saying u want to be a tech just were they went to learn to do as much as they know how to do.
Now with all that said. I've got friends who can fix anyting and they started with just the right tools and time to tear stuff down and put it back together.. but there is a case where u need the tools and a place to work on your heep..
So a few ways to go about educating yourself on general automotive and 4x4 tech just have to decide whitch way is best for you
