Found it was a bad leak in the t-case. Put a new gasket and sealed it back up. Sounds great now.

The two groups took 26 rigs up to Cabezon Peak and Guadalupe Ruins, great family time, weather, fellow Jeepers.

Yeah I thought the roofs were a good start. It's an incredible history to preserve.

Reminder - Gun show this weekend

*Disclaimer: I know the gun shows are usually over prices and crowded. I still like going to look around and kill a couple hours. Please don't flame me for posting this

hey guys,

Though I would say Hi-My wife and I just moved to albuquerque last month. Are there any good trails left open around here? I drove out to find cedro peak closed about two weeks ago...(before I found this section on the forum) Cabezon looks like just a gravel road more for a family saturday afternoon trip. Puerco is closed/too many sketch things going on.

Do you guys have a club that meets regularly?

Welcome to ABQ
There are a several groups
Try NMOffroad And NMJG (nmjg meets the firdt weds of the month at twin peaks) are the ones I visit the most.
As for trails the Rio Puerco was the closest area but like you said not anymore
Cedro will reopen once it drys out
There is the Jemez and Mt Taylor, Gordy's hill about 1hr south. Trails around Farmington and around Los Cruces but both areas are due to lose stuff. So it's starting to suck.
I would recommend visiting NMOffroad frequently and go to there trails section as runs are posted there. March 23 is a run to Monticello canyon and is stock friendly.
Again welcome.

Welcome to the Forum and area.

Like JKJeepit said we, nmjg (newmexicojeepgroup.com) meet the first Wednesday of the month at Twin Peaks. Come join us and meet the group.
As for trails another thing you can do is get the forest service road maps for the different areas. I found some nice trails up by Chama, Red River and Gallup. Just need to check in with the forest service for the area to make sure they are open. Some of us also like taking trips to CO to do trails up there. CO is much more off-road friendly than NM.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I'll try to get to TP and meet up soon. Is Monticello canyon and gordys hill for sure open right now?

Are there any good forest service contact numbers?

Gordys hill is open, it's a designated OHV park.

You would have to call each ranger district for the USFS to their specific closures for the area or check the USFS web site for each district under alerts/notices. Here is the link to the Cibola district

Not sure on that one. When I went there last march we didn't have one.

No sticker required. NM state law is that your vehicle must be registered either as a normal highway vehicle or for motorcycle/atv/utv then an offroad vehicle registration is required.

You don't need the sticker if your vehicle is registered and insured. You are required to have one for a UTV, dirt bike, buggy, etc. here is a link to the state website for any questions you may have.

I see you are in the AF. Where do you work on base?

Not bad at all with the canvas bikini top except for the back seat passengers. Volcanic heaters make topless ok as well.

I was thinking about playing but could lend a hand instead. I'll have the kids with me.
