The only good trails that I know of that arent walks in the park for our Jeeps is the purco, Los Alamos and Red River. Above Tijeras is a OHV trail and used to be easy. I could do it in my stock ZR2 blazer (The 4wd never worked). One of my buddies was telling me they broke up a bunch of big rocks on the trail and graded the road so a prius can get back there now... We had named one of the sections "Oh shit rock" Because you would come around a 90 degree turn and the first thing you'd see was a big slab of a bolder that was angled and the first thing everyone says is "Oh shit". But from what my buddy told me I guess they broke all that up. But that whole area should have about a foot or so of snow right now.

JT, which rear end is in your jeep now? If it is a D44 it will have 3 73 and I am running 35's and it works, but next upgrade will be 4 88 and lockers. It never ends.

I've only done the back way up to the peak from Placitas. Where's that on the map?

Yea 3.77's in there now. I do travel to Texas once a year and drive 1600 miles mileage as it sucks lol!!

So 35 may give me even lower mileage correct?

especially with 35's lol. I would go with 33's if I had to do that much driving or at least keep your stock wheels and tires for trips?
it's a jeep JT, it is supposed to cost money, at least that's the theory I go by

Jemez has some good trails. About 10 of us (Tj's JK's, Explorers and an older Chevy truck) went through it. Some didnt make it through the ruts, that would be fun once it warms up a bit.

I've really been wanting to explore Jemez more. My in-laws have a place just East of the Falls off CD-10. I love to drive that south to the winery every chance I get. I want to explore around there. I've never had a map or gps with me. I got a new Garmin last C-mas so I'm ready.

Since there's no real time to plan I suggest we do like last time.
Chilies on Southern and Under @ 10am Sunday drive to the Puerco to air down and in we go.

I would like to try and break for lunch and near the waterfall if it works out that way. I want check out JT's grill if that's cool.

Does anyone have a good map of the Puerco or at least know the route to continue the loop?

What do you guys think? It's should be in the 60's and much nicer than the last time

I say just put you towards the front and maybe someone in front of you in case we need to help you thru. Has anyone been to tank trap? How long of a trip would it be? Day trip?

If your disco'd and pick the right lines I don't see why not. I've never been on tank trap thus is just going off of pictures and videos. I only have a 2"lift and 33"s so my chassis isn't much higher then yours is and I feel confident.
