craigslist is usually a good starting point.. but frankly I would just look for a ford 8.8 or the like and do it right the 1st time.

I have a pair of 60s and some 38s for the future... but i cant quite afford the rest of the supporting mods...(need some double wrap leafs) so i wanted a temporary dana 35 for the winter. My locker and driveshaft look ok, so i was hoping for a quick swap.

Well, how much money to put 60's in? Compare that to wasting the money on another 35? That's how'd I'd look at it. But CL, EBay if you're set on 35.

Ohhhh Mannn. Sorry to see the Dana 35 let go. I'll keep an eye out for ya - if I see a good deal I'll post it here. These things happen but there is still nothing like a JeeP.

I figure i need another 1K to finish it all... 700 for the leafs, and 3 to cut/mod the driveshafts. I already have the drop pit arm, crossover steer, tires, wheels, brake lines, SOA kit, and shocks.

I figured if I could score another 35 for under 200 then it would be an acceptible time being axle... I just dont want to be stuck for the winter without a 4x4 for the San Aug Pass if it snows. Its not my daily driver, but I feel vulnerable to the weather without my jeep.

I am super proud of the 35 though..... this is her 5th year of solid abuse since I put the locker in. It was bound to happen. but totally sucked being alone. Wont ever do that again!

Doctor, calling Dr. Frank,

Hey, I pulled up a craigslist ad for a Dana 35 - $80.00 bucks. It's from a Jeep Cherokee, maybe it will work for you. Here is the ad link
http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/pts/4151755296.html

It is here in Albuquerque, NM.

I had looked at that add, the only real difference being the 30 spline axles larger drums and SOA.

problem i have with this.... i lose the locker... as yj is 27 spline... 2nd, is the SOA. while i guess perches and some welding are less then 50 bucks, the loss of the locker sucks. unless we go lincolin locker... but that sounds like just as bad of a time bomb.

I think I have one tracked down in El Paso off montana... But thank you! Thank you so much for looking! I appreciate it!

I wasn't sure how compatible the cherokee diff is to a wrangler. Now I know
If I see something else that looks good, I'll post it here.
Thanks, quarkdude
