Good trails in New Mexico?

My wife and I will be driving through NM from Denver to Tucson in a few weeks and we are interested in hitting some trails. Any recommendations? We are probably going to stop in Albuquerque.

A problem right now is that most of the forest is closed due to fire danger. When will you be here?

darkfire is right.. not many places to go..

we have been hitting the rio puerco as our weekly circus event...

if you dont mind a tricycle show that keeps your butt puckered... feel free to come.. but we do have to charge for the whole seat even though you will only be on the edge of it..

walle and myself sign autographs... charge is one beer and toilet paper..

I just got back from a quick Fathers day trip to Bluewater Lake, don't think it got over 85, a quick sprinkle of rain, good camping spots with shade, no fish but we tried as much as my 4 year old would let us lol. I think we will go again soon if all the other areas stay closed to fire danger if anyone wants to plan a trip with me, its only about 1 and 1/2 hours from alb.
