Holiday Mesa Trail Jemez Run

I'm planning a scenic run to Holiday Mesa trail in Jemez / Jemez Springs this Saturday the 14th. I've done this trail 2 times, once in my TJ and once in my Chevy 4x4 truck. I did a round trip in my TJ and stayed over night tent camping in my truck. Its a cool trail, great views, quick trail, it is on the mountain ledge most of the time to keep it fun. The end of the trail has a great payoff on top of the mesa with a drop off you could base jump off of. Tall pines, plenty of shade. The trail can be done WITHOUT lockers, 4 wheel drive and air down is recommended. Depending on interest I'm planning on tent camping, BBQ dinner and sit around the camp fire at night, wake up , BBQ breakfast and head home. If you would rather head home after the mesa top the drive out is the same as the drive in. I checked with the Santa Fe Forest Service and conditions are moderate, NO restrictions what so ever. Weather is forecast 72 high and 52 low, 25% chance of evening rain. Here is a GoPro view of the trail with a bike that went with us last year, my TJ is at 6:05 in.

*****Meeting at the WalMart at 550 and 528 at 830am leaving by 9am *****

That trail and camp is fun, far enough out of town, you have to jeep trail to it, no traffic or dust to deal with, great views, i heard the top of the trail is closed to motor vehicles right now.

4 to 485 to 376

now I hear 604 to 608 is a legal way there, the first time I did this trail we came out on 604, its more of a dirt road, I think they are trying to keep people off of 376 since its the "dangerous" way up the mountain ledge, you can still get there but not as fun lol.

35.7520 N 106.7700 W and 7500ft up is where you want to end up
