Video of quarkdude going up the Waterfall at the Rio Puerco - awesome

Went out to the Rio Puerco today with the wrangler forum guys. Took my 2002 Jeep TJ Rock Crawler up the Waterfall. This ride took my breath away - it was my first time up a rock formation like that. You ever have one of those "Man that was scarey, Let's do it again" moments, yea, that was it. Awesome fun at the Puerco
enjoy, quarkdude

Thanks for the great rock climbing experience JT, I don't thing any rides at the State Fair are going to be any fun after the "Waterfall" ride today

Thanks also for uploading the other obstacles we did today. It was a whole lot of fun - I really enjoyed it.

Very good driving. Do you have any lockers in that Jeep? Any body damage suffered on the second to last shelf? What psi were you running?

Hello 505 JEEPER,
I have a set of Eaton E-lockers on the front and back diff's this makes getting thru the waterfall possible
No damage to the Jeep, just like driving UP the street - LOL
Can't wait to make a run up it again.

Looks Like fun

I just got my first Jeep it's a 2002 TJ as well. 4cyl no lockers. One of the first items on my list is to get a set. What do they run for both front and back? Are they hard to install?.

When is the next run I would like to go give it a try.

e lockers will run about 8-900 PER rear end. The big question is what rear end is in your jeep? If it is a D35 it won't work. If you have a D44 in rear they will. I am going to assume you have 4.10 gears as most 4 cyl came with that ratio. As far as install if you have experience setting up ring and pinions, no problem, but it is generally not a do it yourself project for most people. You can run what is called lunch box lockers that are not true lockers but more limited slip type or posi type. Easier to install because you don't have the set up to redo. I would not recommend doing a locker on a D35 rear end though, they are a weak link. I am sure somebody more versed than I will chime in as well.

X2 not recommended to lock a D35 no matter the gearing or tire size, its to weak. I ran a Aussie lunch box locker that worked great until i could afford a OX. But i had D44s

Thanks for the info. You are right I do have D35 in the rear and D20 in the front with a 4.55 gear. Maybe I should look to the posi track or a true track. Like I said this is my first Jeep so I'm in the process of learning the in's and out's. Sure is fun, wish I would have found out how fun they are 10 years ago.

To get on the Rio Puerco, do you just take Southern until it turns to dirt and keep going West on the dirt?

Congrats on your first Jeep. I am running a Dana 44 in the front with Eaton E-lockers and the rear is a Currie Axle G2 RockJock Dana 60 with Eaton E-locker. I bought the Jeep setup this way - I wish I could take the credit for installing it but I will tell you, they work AWESOME The Waterfall obstacle will take your breath away going up it - half the time you can't even see the ground in front of you, just sky.
