Any Geocachers?

Our family got into this about a year ago and have had some fun adventures geocaching. Anyone else into it and would recommend some good ones or plan a day to gps some new ones?

Check out Texas Parks and Wildlife - they have placed geos in a number of state parks and then grouped the parks by region. If you get them all you can send in the info and get a coin (or some momento).

We started geocaching a few years back, it has been so much fun. We haven't been in a while, I would look on geocaching.com for some local caches and as mentioned in a previous post the state have some caches authorized on public land. I think it would be awesome to combine some mudding and geocaching.

You get GPS coords. to these containers that are hidden. You find them, sign the scroll/paper and log your find. It is quite the adventure, some are very cleverly disguised. Its a great family activity.

I know where one is. We found it last year at the "Bowl", where we are going to be this year for Topless Day. Bring your log and I will help you find it when you are here!!!

I definitely want to get into this, I tried it out when I lived in El Paso, but it was too damn hot to do too much...

There are a few iphone apps, just trying to find the right one to get into it again!

i found one in a park in the bluff. i was out walking with the kids and as soon as i saw it, i knew what it was. we signed the book and put some little things in it. there is another on the island if you go to thep ark off whitecap, the park with the big field that has the frisbee golf park in it. a buddy found that one playing frisbee golf.

i would like to try it out but my hacked iphone gives crazy gps coordinates, ha ha ha

Been geocaching for the past 6 years, off and on. Have hit most of the ones closest to home, always try to grab at least one when travelling to a new state. I need a kayak because there are several only accessible by boat around me.

Well today I didn't use the Jeep for Geocaching. My son and I used our jet ski. We found a few hidden on the islands in Lake Gaston NC. Great day!!!

We have Cached since '06 with our 64 CJ-5 and our 01 Wrangler in all the western states and some Canadian provenances. There are so many caches just pick a town or a route and go get them. We have found the most caches in the Black Hills. Looking for caches gets you down roads you might never go on. Our main problem is snow. Happy caching.
