As of now, I plan on being there and taking the bunny slopes again. However, I am having some work done on her and hopefully, I wont be waylayed into missing the meetup. I still plan on bringing the fender flares for Mike and the skid for Marty. Both you guys are going to be there, right?

I probably wont get there until 10a.. its a good 1.5 hour drive from my house and leaving by 7:30a is just a bit too early for me on a Sat..

"Bunny Slopes" yeah that's what we did last time... LOL

Thanks,

Marty

I think a convoy would be way too cool?

What say you?

Meeting at basswood around 7:30 would be great. I look forward to it. And if they start shutting down lanes on 35 again I will throw a fit. I look forward to seeing you guys there.

I'll meet you guys out there or in Boyd. The only reason I was down south(114/35)that far last time was because of picking up the stickers beforehand. What time you figure the convoy will roll through Boyd?

Hey Mike,

That depends on what time Davids group get to the meeting point. Traffic for them was a bear last time. Hopefully it will be good this trip.

I have your cell # and will give you a shout 11/17/12 am.

Like I said before, I plan on meeting at 35/Basswood at 8 am. I'm new to this kind of thing so I will have my training wheels on during this trip. But can't wait to meet everyone and eventually rip the training wheels off !!

Good deal, so 1st listen to what David wrote. 7:30 am our group meets with his? They could be late, but if not you will miss the group ride in to Bridgeport? Maybe not?

Do any of yall know about place in the mountains of Oklahoma or Arkansas that has old mining trails or anything like that for excursion type off roading trips (whether it is day trips or camping trips).

I'd really like to find a place with some pretty scenery and mild trails to go drive around - the type of public land that just isnt anywhere in texas.

As for mountain trails with scenery superlift off road park in hot springs AR is supposed to be very cool. Not really excursion style but they have longer trails than you find most places here.

If you want a TX excursion you need to check out big bend state park. The state park has unmaintained trails that a stock jeep can handle but other makes can not. The national park is not the same thing. Their trails are fit for 2 wheel drive. But the state park actually requires four wheel drive.

They have 70 miles of trails with designated camping sites along the way. But do your research it is desert mountains and you are far from civilization.

Check out this PDF for more info. http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/publicat...4501_0152k.pdf

I plan to make a trip down there within the next year.

I hope this helps.

Hey, I might be going to hidden falls tomorrow. I'm new to Texas (yeehaw). I've never been on any rated trails so I'm not sure what my experience level is on those terms. How's the camping around there?
