Does this Jeep Exist?

I would like expert advice from the Jeep searchers in the Houston area.

This is what I want:

---------------------
I am looking for a 4-door wrangler unlimited x or sport (submodel C) (whatever is the base model).

These are non-negotiables.

non-smoker
4-door
Manual transmission, 4wd
Manual windows and locks
Hardtop
No black or blue
Tow package

I prefer the rescue green or the det yellow, but will look at the other colors.
--------------------

Am I doing something wrong here? I've got * 9 * dealers in the area looking for me. I hope this doesn't turn out like the Honda Element search. I gave up after 4 months.

Do you want new or used? If new, they just order it that way from the factory and you will get exactly what you want. It may be hard to find the Jeep you're looking for used. Base model 4-doors could be difficult to find because a lot of people that get them want the small luxuries that are commonly included. Start looking at auto trader and craigslist in your area. I'm not sure how much help we all can be on here because you only really know what you want.

It has to be used... And I continually look at the 9 dealers every day and use autotrader as well.

Is there a reason that is has to be used? You really aren't going to save that much money on a used Wrangler. They tend to hold their value extremely well and the price won't drop that much only after a few years. If you don't mind me asking... What is the price you are looking for?

Because all I've got to work with is 18,700 out the door. And I have to ask - are you one of these people making $50k a year minimum? I make HALF that. Not that I'm accusing you of anything, just that this is my reality, and it's different from people who can afford to buy new.

Snicker... I love them, but the manuals don't exist in the open market in Houston. All the people have them and won't sell them.

Sorry, I was in no way trying to come off acting mean. And no... I don't make $50k a year. I am still in college and working part time as a server. My dad is currently helping me out with my payments until I am out of school and have a steady job.

When we bought my 2010 2 door sport, we were out the door at $19,000. That's a 2 door, so I understand now why you want to go used.

Hopefully others can chime in an help you out. Just keep looking and I'm sure that you or one of the dealers will find you a Jeep you'll love.

Yes, I know you weren't being mean, but I had to see where you were coming from. Is it true that there is less "off-the-lot" depreciation than other models/brands? Is that why so many people are buying new Jeeps? Because they work offshore or out in the field?

What part of Houston are you in? There are a few dealerships that dedicate themselves to sell used Jeeps in the Clear Lake area. I'll keep an eye out for you.

The reason they hold their value is because of the demand for them and the fact that they hold up pretty well (estimated useful life).

Yeah, Wranglers hold their value extremely well. When we started looking for a Jeep for me, we originally looked for used. When we found a couple of base 2007 and 2008 Jeeps for over $17,000, we decided to go new. Then we found my 2010 Wrangler for under $20,000 and it was a no brainer to go new.

That is one of the reasons why more people are buying new. The other is because Wranglers are very personal. Many people want to order it from the factory so they can get exactly what they want. It's funny to see the hundreds of members on here ordering the new 2012 Wrangler sight unseen just because it has a more powerful engine. I really want to see what problems might arise soon after the release of the 2012 Wrangler.

Hopefully not many problems arise from that engine. It would be nice to continue the good and reliable engines that Jeep has made. With the exception of the 3.8.

Just kidding.

Thanks. West Houston, and I'm looking within a 50-mile radius.

Haha, I doubt there will be any major problems. Just a few small bugs to be worked out. It is not a new engine, but it is new to the wrangler, so it might take some adjusting to get it just right to fit the wrangler.

I bought mine a year and 16,000 miles ago. It shows on Kelley Blue Book for $3,000 more than I paid for it out the door at a Jeep dealer. They obviously hold their value.
