I know exactly where this is but for those who live out of town - you may want to include a map or directions with exit numbers and such.....just a thought. I would do it but directions are NOT my thing, that's what GPS is for :-)

Right on. Yup, that's my new toy/hobby/DD/money-pit!!! But it beats the hell outta driving anything else. I've only had it for about 2 weeks now, my 87 TJ finally bit the dust (fire).

Sweet looking Jeep you have there. I just got mine (06' TJ,) in December. It's my first Jeep and all I want to do is get stuff for it, it sure does get addicting. My buddy also has an 06' TJ with a kayak rack on it. I'll throw you a wave next time I see you.

Yep!! Ha!! Impact Orange it is... I haven't changed it too much besides painting my rims black last weekend. I've actually seen at least two other TJ's around town in this color, one of which was probably you. lol...

... New to Jeeps. Had to do a quick search for Brute conversion. Oh man, I would love to see something like that. I don't think I've ever seen anything like that here in CC, although I'm pretty sure there is.

There is no exit number for going to bob hall and the national seashore. You come into corpus on whichever highway and head to the island on SPID (south padre island drive). Stay on SPID and gldrive over the little bridge towards the island and then drive over the causeway to the island. Over the causeway, the highway ends and becomes anorak road with stop lights. You will drive through two stop lights and then about a half or 3/4 mile past the last one, you will see the padre balli (bob hall pier) park on the left. There is over night camping available at this part of the park, on the right. From there, just drive down the beach until you see a whole bunch of other jeeps, roughly 2.5 to 2.8 miles.

As the day gets closer, we can get each other's phone numbers in case people get lost or need directions

Yea the last mile marker is 252 it's about 1/2 mile more. Or exactly 2.8 miles from bob hall. It's the only clear spot you can drive up into the dunes the rest of the way is lk a sand wall where you cannot drive up without getting stuck.

Nope I've asked the mechanics at my work if they can do mine cause I've seen them do our big trucks here and they said its a pita. To just take it to a shop and pay but if you find someone let me know I need a gear swap too. I wanted to try it myself it comes with instructions. So who knows sorry.
