Houston and Galveston Area

So what's going on? I'm back in Houston until the end of the year and would love to meet some people. I'm not sure what there is to do exactly, since normally I enjoy going to the beach and having bonfires, but right now that's not legal. So if anyone would like to hang out or anything. Let me know.

Hi Phil,

I just moved here from Phoenix Arizona last month. I'm looking for a good jeeping gang too. I also do not know what kind of wheeling to expect here in Houston but I'm anxious to just get out and explore.

If you (or anyone else) knows of a good jeeping club, let me know.

Right now I'm just trying to get my jeep street legal. I have to replace a clock spring in the steering column and fix some other minor things with the headlights, parking brake, license plate lamp, etc.

See ya later,

Ben

I'm interested, but I need to figure out what my plans are since it's Halloween weekend. As for wheeling, the Wrangler isn't mine, and it's a stock 01 Sport on 31's, so nothing crazy other than like trails and sand. I drive a Silverado, so it's not going into anything insane either. But I would like to check out Crosby, the pics make it look pretty awesome and it appears to be somewhat tame as long as you stay out of the mud pits.

Go here to meet these people. They're nice people!

Houston JeepPeople Meetup (Houston, TX) - Meetup

They are planning on going to several events. There are a bunch of events this month, one of which is Marble Falls on the other side of Austin on the last weekend of October.

Look at the calendar here - Houston JeepPeople Meetup (Houston, TX) - Meetup

I want to go, but I came back from a 3,200 mi trip in my LJ last month, so I'm going to be paying that off for a while before I'm ready for an intrastate trip.

If anyone wants to Check out Down South Offroad, I'm planning on going either Saturday or Sunday, most likely Sunday though.

Thanks for the tip.

I checked out their webpage and joined the group. Hopefully I can make one of the outings soon.

I'm going to double check my availability when I get to work tomorrow because I really want to make that trip Hidden Falls with the group on Saturday the 29th.

Head out there Friday evening, hit the trails all day and still be back home in time to not get in to (too) much trouble

I didn't have time to go out there. Had a few errands to run, and my partner backed out, and personally, I don't want to go to a new place and wheel alone, just in case I would get stuck/stranded. But I'll talk to the other half and figure out if I'm free the 29th.
