Blake Duke,

Where about in Katy is that theater located? Is it the one by the JC Penneys? Would love to go out and spin around for a while.

Yup, that's the place. Only place I know of near me in Rosenberg. Been going there for years.

That place in Katy is called Cinemark. I don't recommend it. I live 5 minutes from there, down westgreen, and I get a call almost twice a week because all the kids from my school in Dadd'ys truck gets stuck and they tear it up. I remember riding in my buddies Tahoe with 44's tearing that place up and rutting it to all hell... Not only that, but it's a party place, so there is TONS of trash and wood with nails to thrash your tires. Not to mention I've almost been arrested there. Do yourself a favor and stay away from there lol. It's bad news.

I've been there also about 6 years ago and its highly illegal to go in there. also the cliffs behind Morton high school are the same its almost worth it to drive 70 miles and pay at a park. Getting a trespassing ticket is no fun. Some people think the cops don't have 4x4s but they do!

Yea, I almost got arrested for pulling a friends Jeep out. She and her other stuck friend both got a very expensive trespassing ticket and the cop decided to let me go since I was only there to help pull them out and it was already 3 am in the morning.

Please stay away from the movie theater field. It is not legal and gives Jeepers a bad name in the area for being so high profile/visible.

Check out Sugarhill Offroad Park (Sugarhill Orp on Facebook). It is in Houston and is legal to wheel. It used to be a golf course. That is the closest place to wheel legally....about 20-30 minute drive from Katy.

Other options are Down South Offroad in Crosby, and Creekside Edge in Splendora. Either of those are an hour drive from Katy. Creekside is a good park to hit up. Haven't been to DSO yet.

Went to the Shilo Ridge web and that place seems mad crazy. Do they have some starter trails? Thanks to everyone who chimed in on the dirt patch around the Cinemark area, I wouldn't want to do anything that will give us Jeepers a bad reputation

There's a bunch of folks heading to Mud Land Offroad in Alvin this Friday at 1200 for the grand opening. I am running a stock rig also, but am looking forward to meeting some other Jeepers in the area.

Are all the off road trails outside of Houston?

I live in downtown and looking for some light trails to hit up.

The Alvin one looks like all woods/brush trails?

First hand feedback on this place?

I don't have any first hand knowledge of it but if you look up karim in hjp meetup he can tell you. He's one of the main guys in hjp and he got to tour the place before they opened with some other main guys from hjp and owners of some local jeep shops here in town.

I might run through it Friday afternoon, if I don't go shoot benchrest.
Appreciate the info, but I don't do HJP...got booted because I work too much and play too little.
If I do go Friday, I'll take pics/vids to post up. I imagine there are others wondering about this place, too.
