Although it makes me wait longer than I want, have decided to wait until MY 2013 for Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. Hopefully I can still get the Skittle colors (last Jeep was silver).
At the last meet, a comment was made that I might consider waiting until the 2013 because of the head problems. Did some research. Appears Jeep did have problems around the Fall. Hopefully corrected, especially permanent fixes for 2013.
Also May Dealer Allotments were cancelled. Dealers want more for remaining inventory. Should be better deals for 2013. MY 2013 Orders open June 6 – in about a month.
Depends on info available, but might try for delivery on birthday (Nov 23) or earliest date.
An 8-speed and diesel would be nice, but not expected.
Hopefully can still get Skittle Gecko or Crush or similar.

Looking forward to it. Should be fun.
Mainly live in Las Vegas. Does this count as a long drive ???
However, in the last several years have spent time in San Antonio (for SWBC) (one of our team lives in Toronto – goes home every other weekend), Maryland (DC) for IRS, Detroit (for General Motors), Chicago (for Hewitt Associates), Atlanta (for Unbounded), Salem, Oregon (for State of Oregon), and Fort Knox (for US Army).
Lupe sounds like fun - they have my vote.

Sounds like great fun. Looking forward to it.

Have been asked about my background. This was done for another post but answers the question:

Brother Daniel killed in combat. Some evidence suggests killed by own men. However, Army classified details of Daniel’s death.
Myself, started out as 11B, light weight weapons specialist, Infantry.
Went to Engineer Officer Candidate School. After this and several other schools became 5-1331-P.
The 5 for Atomic Demolition Munitions (sometimes called Suitcase Nuclear Bombs).
The 1331 for Combat Engineer Unit Commander.
P for paratrooper.
Later earned MOS in depot management.
Leaving active duty was a volunteer in Reserves for several years.
Civil Service for Army:
Ft Monroe, VA: photography
Ft Eustis, VA: photography
Ft Irwin, CA: management, photography
Ft Shafter, Hawaii: in charge of Army’s photography, video and film for the Pacific.
Dugway Proving Ground, Utah: photography, data analysis, project planning, and computer development. My teams’ work was used in technology exchanges with countries like Israel.
Now as an independent consultant in knowledge and document management, one of my clients is the Recruiting Command at Ft Knox and sites like GoArmy.com.
Some of my other clients are IRS, Intel, General Motors, Fujitsu, Honeywell, Fidelity Investments, Wells Fargo Bank, Cincinnati Insurance, Amgen Pharmaceutical,Johnson & Johnson, George Washington University, etc.

Orange Crush Girl,
How long have you had your Crush?
Do you find yourself liking it more or liking it less?
Looking forward to seeing it.
What is the water you are overlooking in the photo?

I8up,
How has your lift affected on-road performance?
Do you have the experience to compare Discount Tire with TireRack.com?
Have fun !!!

My JKU is a year and a half old, was purchased bran-spanking-new. I hafta say I do miss my YJ but I'm definitely liking the Crusher more. There's room for all my shit and my dog can cool it in the back seat. Someday it will be the mommy-mobile and the puppy will still be able to come along because I have space in the "trunk" for him..
The water that its parked near was at Elephant Butte Lake in Elephant Butte/Truth or Consequences, NM last summer on one of our boating outings.

Natl GTD

I was looking for some folks to convoy from Austin area, but got no takers. I am now able to leave Friday night, but was thinking about driving to somewhere south of SA and then driving in on Saturday morning.

Any of you SA Jeepers going to GTD leaving from SA area on Saturday morning? I haven't taken the YJ on a trip this long, so I was looking for some strength in numbers.
