Lift

Hello everyone I'm trying to get a 2 inch lift on my 05 Tj. I plan on getting an OME 2" lift and was wondering if there had to be any other changes done to it aside from that. I don't have a garage or tools to do it myself so I'm taking to a shop. I just don't want to get ripped off. However I do understand that lifts change the geometry of the angles under the jeep so extra parts and or even having to drop the transfer case might have to happen. Just trying to get some advice so I don't end up with an unfinished project with possible potentiality for further damage. Thanks for reading.

Arsonistsavior,

With only doing a 2" lift you won't have to worry about the geometry of the suspension changing much. The OME kit is a great kit to get you running a little bigger tire for more ground clearance. Also if you are going to run the heavy kit, the springs will help with load carrying.

The transfer case drop is really only for lifts above 3" but even then you should go with a slip yoke eliminator (SYE) because it is more permanent and a safer option.

Since you are having a shop install it, make sure it gets aligned because when you do anything under there, you want to get everything squared back up.

Our Jeep Experts are here Monday-Friday from 9AM-6PM EST. If you want to hit them up, their number is 800.988.4605. Or you can shoot me a PM and I'll help you out.

ExtremeTerrain is a separate company from 4 Wheel Parts. We're based out of Malvern, PA, right outside of Philadelphia.

Be sure to check out our website and sign up for our catalog! Hit up one of our Jeep Experts on the phone if there's anything you need or just shoot me a PM!
