Lone Star Jeep Club- Any thoughts?

Is anyone on here a member of this club? From what I hear its a pretty big one around DFW and they get together quite a bit. I just don't want it to be all about who has the biggest lift or the best Jeep kind of thing.
Girls just wanna have fun right?

You might be better off in the local threads.

I lurk on LSJC and have posted a few times. Seems like a pretty good group and they're local so I'll probably pull the membership trigger before long.

Texas 4wd has a chapter in DFW, very family oriented.

Our camp at BMRA is LSJC's old camp after they were removed from the park because of one persons differing opinions with the management (from what I understand)

I’m new to the jeep family too, looking for a local club near Richardson, Plano, Allen, and McKinney area.

Lone Star Jeep Club so far has got one point for their forum,
DFW 4WD is like a train wreck to me,
DFW Crawlers well just don't seem to have a forum.

Sorry if i offended any one and if I’m wrong please show me.
I haven't been to any of the gatherings yet, so still haven't decided.

oh I thought you meant the actual club was unorganized.

we just implemented the new website and yes, it has been a bit...different. that being said, we are more than a website, some members have been around since before the internet.

i am joined LSJC last year, had been a couple of runs with them and had a great time. I have learned a lot. Plus the LSJC membership has a couple of discounts from some if the local 4wheel parts and collins brothers.

I've been around longer then the internet but if a person can't find where the club meets or what happening it really doesn't do any good....

I have been a member of LSJC for a couple of years now. I have really enjoyed it so far and have met a lot of nice people. They usually have an easy, medium, and hard group at all the events. Something for everyone...

FWIW, I have wheeled with both LSJC and DFW-TXFWD and both groups have some good people. I have been Jeeping for many years though and have never been a big fan of the "pay to join our club" thing and am unsure if I will renew my LSJC membership.

Mainly I wheel with a local group of JKFreaks.com people. I have found them to be the best fit for me. Another group if Military Jeepers for those that served. There is a chapter at Ft Hood that is quite active.

I have no experience with DFW Crawlers and didn't get warm fuzziness from TexasJK.

Is this website available now? I couldn't get it on my first try, but looking forward to it as I don't do Facebook.

I would reccomend LSJC- but i am biased since i am a member .
I have found them to be very nice to new folks.
I would really suggest going on one of their new guys runs ( one is comming up ) if you are new to jeeping.
You dont have to be a member to participate.
The membership paid off for me pretty quick, you get a discount at Orielly's and it saved me some decent cash on my new battery.
