I'm from there.

Today I ran across seven Jeeps, and I only got one returned Jeep wave.

Folks need to read up on the appropriate etiquette for owning a Wrangler.

If you run across a silver LJ, that's me, I'm a huge fan of the waving.

Yesterday what I think was a TJ, a red one, returned my wave, but no one else did. So if he's a member of this board, thanks!

What's everyone doing for spring break?

I'm going to pull a McGyver and make my own overhead CB radio rack and probably add map lights to it as well as other stuff to it. I already chopped up square tubing for the mount. Now I have to take a cutting torch to the flat bar to make mounts for the roll bar. I hope it comes out decent, I'm not a fabricator or anything so I hope I don't do too bad on welding it together.

I hear you.. KRGV News Channel 5 has reported over 123+ arrests since Tuesday

Such a shame that some college kids can't act civil to have a good time.

D&D in McAllen does lifts. I'm pretty sure they specialized in Jeeps. The inside is covered with Jeep posters and the like.

D&D does lifts... I lifted my own jeep but I took my TJ to D&D to get aligned. I'm very happy with the alignment for the $60 they charged me.

McAllen here! I wave! The go says I'm dumb for doing it haha anyone know of any local clubs? I've been searching for info online but I'm coming up empty handed.

Also, does anyone roll around with a CB on? I see lots of jeeps with antennas but never hear anything. Only on the trail? Or maybe I'm on the wrong channel haha

I use a CB radio.. I'm usually on channel 19 when driving around. Alot of "calicheros" talk on the CB though. Right now I'm changing up my CB setup since I gave my old cb to another jeep friend of mine.

NIce. I don't have a CB in my TJ yet because the one I have is a cobra 29 and it's just too big. I'm planning on getting a cobra 75 in the next few month for the occasional trail/beach use. I always have my ham radio on, but I doubt other jeepers use those frequencies.

I'm buying a Uniden 520xl pro with some income tax money since I gave my other cb to a friend of mine

Do you have a ham license? I heard you need one to use those things. I have no earthly idea how they work or what they are used for. I know CB's down here are used for spotting police and state troopers

Yeah I have a license. I get crystal clear reception/transmission from about la joya all the way to the island. They work off of repeaters like cell phones and cop radios. There's always someone listening, unlike cb.

But yeah, cb is good for finding out where "la mapita" is haha

Wrangler owners are suppose to wave to other wranglers they run across on the road. I wave to every wrangler I see. I rarely get returned waves but when I do it makes my day.

Most Jeep owners aren't aware of it, so if you do wave, don't feel stupid if they don't wave back, they should know you're suppose to do that.
