Did not see Bridgeport on the list.
Bridgeport

It's close to DFW and fun.

^^^ I agree. It's an old stone quarry, I believe and the terrain changes every time we go out there. No camping areas yet, but it's a good place for a day trip for those in the DFW area.

I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to add what I've been working on to it. It's not complete yet but it gives you an idea of what's nearby. I'm from Nevada myself, so it was a huge disappointment to see that there are so few areas in Texas to go offroad.

Is there really full size offroading at Angelina National Forest?

Sweet, Ill just add what ive found to that google maps file. It would be nice to get a comprehensive map lime that, complete with all the temporary/seasonal places like canyons and trees and have the admin make a permanent fist page thread with the info for us texas folk.

Awesome! If you could shoot me a pm about it when you finish that would be great. I'm glad someone is taking the initiative to map this stuff out. It really helps

Sorry to bump an old thread.
But i've scoured this thread and a few others for some trails.
Thought i'd make a publicly editable Sheet for TX

Its still a work in progress, If you guys know more places please add them in the list, there are a bunch that still need population and coordinate corrections.

Its a start, Hope you guys like it!!

It's great to see a thread with some good info. I've been to Bridgeport and had a blast!

I am about halfway between Houston and Galveston. The only park I know of, which I didn't see listed in this posting or on the google maps link is Down South Offroad in Crosby, TX. If anyone knows of anything else close please share! Also, I saw listings for pelican island and in Spring, both of which are closed to the public now.
