They asked me first if I was there to shoot and of course I said "No", but later it made me think that maybe they are trying to crack down on people shooting at the pit. Has anyone else had anything like this happen to them while at the Pit?

On a related matter, someone dumped a lot of a sand like substance at the top of the best hill climb out at the pit making it impassable.
Was the truck a Law Enforcement Vehicle? If not then I would suspect that you have a couple of "guberment" employees playing cop. If the pit is private property then the land owner, their agent, or a Law enforcement officer (due to complaint) needs to inform you that you are trespassing. Alternatively they can put up a fence, put up posts/trees with purple paint on them, or post the land with signs to prohibit trespassing. If it is city land then it is not private property but it may not be open to the public.

I will second this, I called Gymguy, then did some homework before responding to this. That area is not in the Odessa city limits & is owned by a private oilfield company who considers that area common property. Also, there are not any "No Trespassing" signs at the entrance to that area.

Hey guys I've been absent for a while. got my jeep down here in december but hadn't had any time to do any work to it yet. I took the motor over this week to have it checked out at mechum machine shop to go over the motor and fix anything that may need fixing! I've got my transfer case split apart in the process of installing a SYE kit on my NP241C So my jeep is finally taking shape. Still need to do my guages and speedo and a few other parts in the interior.

Just want to throw this out there -

For those who would like to join &/or get involved in the club, you don't have to have your rig up & ready to go when you join. Feel free to join us at our meeting on May 4th in Odessa here in a little over 2-1/2 weeks. We would love to meet anyone who is interested

We are also having an outing at the "Outback Adventure Track" off-road park just 5 miles east of Stanton this Saturday, April 20th. I stopped by & visited with the owner this past weekend & he welcomed us to come out this next weekend to explore the place. For more info if you are interested, drop in & say hello at the DR 4X4 site

These guys are going to Twin Buttes in San Angelo on Saturday for a day trip. They are meeting at the Whataburger on I-20 near the turn to Garden City at 7:00am on Saturday and then traveling together to San Angelo. If you haven't been to Twin Buttes, you should join up. It is a pretty good place to Jeep and only a couple of hours away.

Thanks for sharing Gymguy! Really would love to go this weekend but I'll be installing a new rear axle in the Jeep this weekend. I'll let everyone else know

Hey everyone, if you haven't met or wheeled with Gymguy, he's a great guy, if he recommends a place, it's definitely worth checking out

Hey guys and gals, my brother in law is coming into town May 17-19 for the Thunder Fest. He does window tinting. Im planning on getting a tinted softtop and then have him tint my two front windows. He charges $70 for front two, $120 for two door hardtop, and $160 for four door hardtop. His Dad owns a shop for over 20 years now and my brother in law has been tinting for 4 years. I've heard some of the tinting done here is a bit iffy, so thought I'd give you guys the opportunity to get a quality job done. He'll be tinting out of my garage here in Midland. PM if interested.

Looking for some local help:

Quick background:
I grew up in midland. My family is still there. I just retired from the Navy. The air conditioner in my 05LJ went out. It is currently sitting at my sisters house, and I am in San Diego, ca. Don't worry; I'm selling my house here and moving back to the greatest state in the union!!!

I'm looking for a local shop that will fix my air conditioner. I can do it myself, but I suspect the cost of parts AND air fare will be pretty close to just having someone do it for me. it needs a new compressor, lines, evaporator and condenser. I had a small leak, put some stop leak in it and apparently didnt let it circulate long enough. next time i turned it on it blew the lines right off the compressor.

Any suggestions for a reliable, trustworthy mechanic?

HOOYAH!!!
Dan
