Alright I got my CB installed in my JKU, I'm wondering what is the most common channel used by 4 wheelers. If the only time that they are used is when on the trail, or are they used day to day to others drivers while out on the pavement?

Most the time when you meet up with group you as a group figure out what channel you will us. As for pavement I think most common is 19. That's truckers as well. My guess is most jeepers that have them don't have on while driving on road unless they are like me and turn them on from time to time to hear the chatter over the cb. That is usually when I'm bored and tired of hearing radio.

That's kind of the way I am thought it be kind of cool to talk to other keepers while driving down the highway. Did know if there was a common channel that was used. Like the truckers use channel 19.

Listening to the truckers can be interesting - if you can understand them.

My CB for whatever reason always defaults to channel 19 whenever it's turned on (it's wired to come on with ignition) and it always ends up scaring the hell out of me because I'll hear some truckers nearby and forget that it changed channels on me

well yea if you arent on a trail the chances of even coming in range of another jeep with a CB installed is pretty slim, much less one that is turned on and on the same channel.

WE SHOULD ALL JUST DECIDE A CHANNEL
SUCH AS 33

This could become the 19 of the trucker world only for off-roaders.

I was always told 4 because JEEP has 4 letters, but I could be wrong

4 for 4 wheels 4 for JEEP all good to me. The other thing I have noticed going down the highway is that wranglers seem to follow each other it is like it comes natural. Going down 75 the other day and there were three all ready lined up so I just jumped in at the end of the line and followed.

4 is what I've seen most popular in Florida and Austin, Tx. Many get used as different groups at a park pick one so they don't get talked over by other groups.
