Memorial Day plans (okc)

Anybody near OKC wanna get together and have some fun over the long memorial day weekend? I'm up for any ideas, I just want to get out and drive my jeep around.

I'd love to. I work Saturdays though. What days/times/places you have in mind?

Last weekend I had the top off all weekend, this week it is back down around 50-60 here in MI and storming on and off for a few days. I had wanted to head up to northern MI and have some fun w/the jeep (maybe hit the sleeping bear sand dunes) but we'll be staying close to home. Our oldest in on the Washington DC trip with school and guess when we have to pick him up? Sunday morning at 7am, right dead center of the holiday weekend. Kind of blows the plans for travelling... but, we'll find something fun to do.

Happy Memorial Day! Thanks to all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for us to be able to wheel our Jeeps in a free country!

I'm actually looking for ideas myself. I just moved to ok in October and haven't been jeeping around these parts yet. I actually just got my jeep in march, so if anybody is willing to, I could use some pointers in rock climbing. I've just been playing around on some dirt hills at the construction sites at night around the city... Haven't been caught yet, *knock on wood*...

I'd love to get out and get the full experience though. I've heard people talk about Disney, SW 59th and Douglas, and Chandler park, but I've never actually been them yet. What do you want to do?

I live in mustang. Stay away from Draper... If you get caught you'll get impounded. In Lexington, south of Norman, there is Sundog Trails on the river. 10 bucks per vehicle, fun to wheel the river banks and there are a few trails there from what I've heard. There is also some land in Moore, between sw 89th and 104th on the east side of I-35; once you get back in there there are some pretty serious mud holes and hills to play on. I was there a couple weeks ago

Impoundment is real at the Lake Draper area but not 59th and Douglas. There a a lot of Jeeps, bikes, 4 wheelers etc. out there every weekend.

59th and Douglas... Hmmm... Trying to think of what is on that corner. Isn't that right next to Tinker? Is there a bunch of hills or something to wheel on?

From I40 go south on Douglas.

At the second light (59th) turn left.

You will see the open field on your right.

A few hundred feet east of Douglas you will see the entrance to the area on your right.

There are a lot of wheelers that frequent this area on weekends. Everything from monster trucks to 3 wheelers. I have wheeled there numerous times but allways by myself. So, there are several trails that I have not been on yet.

This is also where the Military Jeepers from Tinker meet on occasion.

There are mud pits. hills, water crossings and trails.

It is not a very big area but, it is fun.

Maybe I will see ya'll out there this weekend.
