Anybody know a decent jeep mechanic in OKC? Going to get a Teraflex leveling kit and not sure I trust myself to get it right :banghead:

Sorry, but I don't know of any in OKC. It's a fairly easy job though. All you need are some basic tools, floor jack, jack stands and a torque wrench. It'll take you about half a day the first time, but then you get quicker.

I shot them a message. I got the other stuff done that I needed to but need some lights wired up and I do my best to stay away from electrical.

If somebody in the OKC area knows how to do it I can show up with the beer
What kind of lights you wiring up? I am in Tulsa but wouldn't mind helping, and I drink tea not beer so you can get out cheap !!

Tony and Robbie from Goodyear do nice work. It's Rob's Goodyear, SW 58th and Western. Don't undersell this place as a tire shop, Tony travels part time with the monster truck circuit and knows his stuff. Robbie is a good owner/manager. (405) 212-5860

They were the ones guys to get rid of my death wobble in the TJ, and I have been with them ever since.

I was having a major wiring issue with my daughters 02 4.0. I had it at the Jeep dealership on NW Expressway where they changed out the cam sensor, crank sensor, oil pump drive, all 6 coils and it still wouldn't run right. It was like someone would turn of the key for a split second and then turn it back on. So I called Rob @ Rob's Goodyear.

He called back yesterday to report he had found the problem. There was a wire in the main loom that had rubbed the bell housing causing an intermittent short. Hats off to Rob and his crew, they fixed in a few hours what the dealership couldn't fix in a week. Now they are going to do the brakes, swap out the trac bar put on new Duratracs and a few other things.

If you are having issues with y our jeep I highly recommend Rob and his crew. With my daughter moving away for the first time and starting school it's nice to know a good shop is available to do work I don't have time for.

Thanks Lusus

Thanks for the review! I'm glad to see another Jeeper happy with their work. I had been told to go there years ago when I had death wobble issues that would randomly show up on the TJ. I had been to every shop in OKC and three dealers and none could fix it. Tony fixed it within a day, it was all alignment, nothing worn or replaced. That was what sold me on their service.

Since I am under warranty right now I haven't been using them, I really hope someone else with a little older Jeep finds this info useful.

Glad there is some place local to trust. I just ordered some new springs 18/60 for my sport and a leveling kit...I plan to bring it to these guys and have them put this stuff on. My experience w/ qualified Chrysler technicians is non-existent.

I have used John Gatlin since 1999 over at David Stanley Dodge in Midwest City, he's a good service writer. Recently I was told Brian Fox is over there too in service, he's also a member of Red Dirt Jeeps, lots of others have recommended him too.

I still watch the techs like a hawk. I used to have a good tech over there named Mike, this was 4 years ago probably, he was great with my Jeep. He moved on to another job though, that was also about when the TJ was out of warranty and I found Tony at Goodyear.

For basic things that are to the book, a good dealer is fine. Even with a simple leveling kit though, I'd only use Tony (but I'm partial of course).
