Just an FYI: might want to skip the 'notch' section in this weather unless you're built for it. Many parts of the trail will be a challenge in sloppy conditions, but the notch section will be especially challenging.

The section I'm talking about is somewhat near the beginning, right before the 'poser rock'. When I did it a couple weeks ago, the only rigs that didn't have trouble (myself and Hwy1rubi) had 35" MTR's, lift, front lockers. A stock Rubi couldn't make it because of ground clearance (bypassed the section).

We also had a pretty built TJ with a rear locker, but no front locker. He had AT tires and had to be tugged 3-4 times.

There will be other sections that will be a challenge without MT tires as well. Many parts felt more like skiing than wheeling with all the slop. Bring straps and take lots of pictures!

You're totally right, that v-notch is not easy and is probably the hardest part of cleghorn when snow and slush is involved. I did it about 2 years ago on open diffs and it took me about 30min to clear that section. I would love to try now with my front locked and 35s though.

Thanks for the update Rick. Last time I was up in December, it rained the day before but not as much as today. I made it through the notch with open front and rear but it took some finesse during some parts. Elmo, my friend from San Diego confirmed that he will be heading up with us. He's heading to my place so tomorrow so we can install his 2" spring lift. Sunday will make for the perfect 1st run.

Rick and I did the second half by ourselves and flew through it, a lot of fun. You guys will have a blast up there Sunday with the snow and mud, wish I could join you but made some jeep mod install plans this weekend in prep for Ocotillo next weekend.
