Thanks to Sinisterphoto for leading the moderate run, he did an excellent job and got everyone 20 something miles through the Calico mountains with no damage, to my knowledge, other than some scraped skids and sliders. Impressive, considering we had a few stock vehicles, including an FJ. He took us through the same trail as last year and we made it to the end 3 hours faster, so we even got to see parts of Calico that the group last year did not. Everyone on the trail did great, and I think there were a few that cut their teeth on this trail. I hope it fueled the fire so that you keep hitting the dirt looking for bigger and better challenges! Again, great job leading Geovanny, thanks!

Cant wait to see the pics, we might have some to share.
Thanks for your hospitality. It was great meeting both of you. Mimi went up that waterfall like she had done it many times before! Let's keep in touch.

We had an awesome time wheeling with everyone! I'm really glad I was able to make it. Perfect day and the trails were sweet! I want to thank everyone for the great food, I didn't know I was staying out there that late (or hell even staying the night lol) or I would have brought out a dish! Hopefully I can camp there next year, one day/night isn't enough. Again thx everyone for everything, you all rule!!!!!

P.s... What trail is next :-)

Nice video Joe... The tortoise thing makes now!! Were there any other secret roads that you guys are keeping from us ... Or is it just the one in the video?!

(Obviously you guys did the right thing ... But in case no one knew the tortoises are protected and even messing with an empty shell can get you in trouble...big fine)

Oh I think it warrants mentioning that Calico is a limited use area meaning that we have to stick to established trails ... We can't really make new trails out there ... So Tortoise Loop has been around forever and has just fallen out of regular use ... Wink wink

Also thanks to Ted and Armand for organizing the shooting. We all lived, so must of done something right!

Special thanks to Ted for showing my how to shoot. I learned more from you than anyone in the last 20 years of owning a gun. I know feel like 'I know how' to shoot. Holding the gun, stance etc. Of course, the '2 dogs humping' is something I'll never forget ha ha. We should make the shooting a regular part of the Calico M&G.

Steve, I can thank you enough for an incredible run. At many times during the day, I felt it was a battle in the SW area. And we won that battle! New trails are always a good time. I definitely look up to you as a wheeler and felt like many of us took that 'next step' in wheeling. You are a pioneer of SW and other than 'Steveo', 'woknrox', I'm now giving you a new nickname of 'Stoddard Steve'. I look forward to running more trails with you in the future.

The order of the trails was also great. We seemed to have a gradual build up with Pumkin Eater being the grand finale. It really was a full day of wheeling that made me want to go back to see what else SW has to offer.

I have some pics and video, was trying out a brand new camera so not all of the video came out. I'll edit it later.

Pics:
Hey Rick...Thank you for the kind words and I like the new nickname too. I'm glad you stuck with me and made it out for this one. I knew this was going to be a day of wheelin you were going to really enjoy. It's an awesome feeling when you find yourself on that next step up pushing your skill level. That was truly a great day bud....
We'll definitely be doing it again soon.

Hi everyone
I just wanted to thank Jenn and Adrian for inviting Liz and I to this run. We had a great time and can't wait to do it again. Also thank you to all the great people we meet this weekend at the potluck and at our camp site. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful. You all truly made our first run a GREAT ONE.

It was an amazing event. I'm glad I was able to make it. I had a great time wheeling with some good old friends and meeting new ones.
Thank you to all that helped in organizing this event and leading the runs.
Sorry Steve for missing your run. I think we should make a special trip one day for SW.

First thing I though when I saw it was, "oh that's where those came from" Lol, I see where the bumper got it's boo boo too.

One day back and Mike said he wished he had stayed in Calico, lol. That's how his Monday went

It was a great time. That's one of my favorite "local" trails, but it had been over a year since I've run it, so it was great getting back. Sorry we didn't make it back to camp to hang out with you guys.

It's all good. We know your wife and you had plans to spend the weekend together. Now you just need to convince her to camp. She wheeled with us.
