Trail 1: Led by BillG.OTD Difficult Rating

Here is some info on trail 1 - Dishpan & Holcomb- CB channel 4 - We will be leaving Hanna Flats camp at 9am and heading via Hwy 18 to Deep Creek (aprox. 27 miles) same as last year. We will air down as soon as we hit dirt. Dishpan starts just after you cross the bridge at Deep Creek. We will break for lunch after Dishpan (possibly at Crab flats with shade and bathrooms) from there we will run Holcomb backwards (starting from the rock garden) At the end of Holcomb we will be very close to Hanna Flats camp and my hope would be to return by about 4pm.

I just bought Lady Antibellum tickets for July 24th, I told Amanda she was going and maybe the excitement will put her into early labor. Then we can make the Meet & Greet.....she didn't find that very funny

I did, haha

I wouldn't mind doing dishpan considering I have never done the entire trail. The last time I attempted it (which was my first run with WF) there was this white jeep laying on its side blocking the path and then another yellow jeep ran out gas assiting the white jeep and by the time all the carnage was done and the trail was clear it was getting dark so I turned back and went home.

Lots learned that day... 1. If you have a winch, always carry a tree saver and snatch block 2. If another vehicle gets impatient and decides to go over the edge of a cliff to get around the road block, don't put the video on this forum, because everyone bags on you 3. Always pull the plugs and pump out oil before starting your 4.0 after it's laid on its side. 4. Don't park your JKU pointed downhill for long periods of time when you have 1/3 tank of fuel because the pick up is in the back of the tank and it runs it's self out of fuel! I had a great time that day!

Agreed Stan and I was dang lucky to have you and a few others there to help me out....long day! Those type of days really tell you what you need to have and I have all the items mentioned above along with a spark plug socket. I'm also glad Phil carries a fiver of gas with him....

The knowledge to upright a jeep came in handy 2 weeks later as well......
