Great! But Burbank would take you out of your way a bit. Maybe somewhere along the 14 would be better for you. But I don't know yet whether I'll head out straight from work in Westwood on Friday and setup camp at night, or leave Saturday morning early enough to setup camp first, or just setup camp at the end of the trail run.

I think ide be down to camp if i can get it off work. (i work in retail so that mght be hard.) I got a couple questions tho. Remote camping= no toilets and running water correct? #2 wats the weather goin.to be like day/night temps? And if i do camp ill need some where to hang my hammock would some one be interested in lending me a section of their roll cage to accomidate my style. All it means is u cant leave while im sleeping I wouldnt wana be attached to ur jeep as u drive off. The hammock set up/take down time is under a mintute.

The campsites we're considering are primitive, so yah, no toilets no water.

It's hard to say this far in advance what the weather will be like, but it will probably be comfortable during the day and cold (mid 30's) at night.

If we camp at Holland Camp, there are remains of an abandoned structure there. You might be able to attach the other end of your hammock on the structure.

OK, well.. just let me know. As long as the camping is remote and not going to cost me $50 for the weekend to camp, I'm in.

I haven't spent a lot of time out there that way, so really don't know the area real well. I hit up LCC and Nightmare a couple years ago, so I will definitely want to link up with someone along the way.

Coop, Lorie and Bhealey28, let's see if we can arrange a caravan. When were you all thinking of driving out there?

If it's Friday, I can't leave work any earlier than maybe 3:00pm at best from Westwood. That will get me to camp after dark. I'd prefer not driving the bumpy dirt road up to camp alone at night, but I have no issues as a group.

If it's Saturday, I can leave from Burbank anytime.

Sigh...switch me to "maybe" since we're Last Chance not Calico. This will be a 3 hour drive for me- not good for a day run. Have tickets to the Chargers/Bengals game on Sunday and no way I can make camp Friday night before dark. A hotel defeats the purpose but if I don't get out before this I might hurt someone...so "maybe".

Add me and Hurley to the "Hell Yes" list... camping and everything. I might even have a tent by then! I'm in for the caravan too. Just so long as we watch Convoy on the way...

There is a McKinley Crossroads Mall run that weekend too... maybe that would be more your speed?

(Just spend the night, I promise it won't hurt... for long)

I won't get to camp before dark on Friday either, but we're working on getting a caravan going so at least we won't have to drive up there alone.

Awesome! What's the earliest you can head out on Friday?

I'm in favor of camping Friday night if we can get a caravan setup for an arrival after dark, since I can't leave work until maybe 3pm at the earliest.

As early as needed, I can either take the whole day off, or just a half day... I'm pretty flexible this far in advance.

Okay, sounds good. So far I'm the one holding us back with my 3pm departure. I wish I had more available time off so I could just take the whole day off.

There's a Park N Ride off Newhall off the 14...if I remember correctly. Does that work for anyone?

How about the Jack in the Box in Canyon Country off of Via Princessa? That way if someone needs to grab a quick bite, they can get something there.

No crap....it will be the lame against the lame....and two teams that have lost to the BROWNS. We have some friends flying out from Cincinnati so at least the tail gating/company will be good. NFL games are my Bday tradition.
I was gonna loan you a tent Scott but now I'll just let Hurley have it. (The pup tent- get it). But you probably have seated heats in your Sahara so I bet your butt will be warm...
Not out for the count yet; just gonna depend on how early/if I can leave on Friday. I am at least an hour from you guys I think- on a Friday it could be double.

Canyon Country's off the 101 isn't it? I need to go 14 N? I get there by 5 S. Last time I wheeled out that way, I had to hit the 126 E to the 5 S to the 14 N and then I forget the rest.

Maybe we can team up with someone who's going to be easiest to reach according to all of our get off work times and location?... As opposed to trying to get a group to caravan?

Just brainstorming..

The Jack in the Box I'm referring to is

18525 Vía Princessa
Canyon Country, CA 91387

It's just a little past Newhall.

I probably won't be able to get to the Jack in the Box until at least 4pm, probably about the same time as you.
