We move between spectator areas in our Jeeps.

I can't find any info yet RE: the course map. We have to wait for that (and which way they are running)to decide where to meet up. I did read that more spectator areas are being made available this year. I'll keep watching for them to post the course map.

I'll be heading up Thursday night and meeting XJRichard. Not sure where we're camping though.

We're stay through the action on Friday and then on to Saturday to do some of our own wheelin. Who has wheeled up there before that can speak on trails like Sledgehammer, Jackhammer, etc?

I just had to email the KOH volunteer coordinator that I can't make it for the first time in three years. I broke part of my TJ two weekends ago on the rocks & the last of the parts haven't arrived yet so I could have completed the repair this weekend. What makes it worse is by having been a volunteer several years by now that I would have finally been running one of the better/more exciting check points. My prior checkpoints were pretty tame. Damn.

Rethinking camping Wunderground says 36 degrees for a high with windchill to 12 degrees on Friday and 19 degrees Friday night. News said chance of rain Thursday and Friday. I'll keep watching, may be a day trip.

They have stuff going on all week but the main race is on Friday. They have qualifying and smaller races all throughout the week. It literally turns into its own city for a week.

Somebody going to KOH and to the March WF Calico Meet 'n Greet, please bring me a cool looking KOH 2013 t-shirt in a L (or XL if they run small) & I'll pay you for it. Color? I dunno, black? White? I CANNOT BELIEVE I can't make it to KOH this year.

Here's a few more pics... They started setting up two weeks ago and Sunday was the first official race, the motorcycles.. I think there are three more races and qualifying to go..it's pretty wild in Hammer Town with all the rigs parked everywhere and running around...

In addition to the warm clothing suggested above, you may want (really) some tight fitting goggles as your eyes can get sand blasted out there. And I hope you already have hotel/motel reservations. There aren't many places to stay out there & I wouldn't be surprised if all the hotels/motels in the area aren't already either already booked up or close to that.

Koh

Sonoma Girl, just a heads-up for raceday on friday. I was there 2 years ago, and traffic was a total jam up going in all morning. Plan on getting to Boone RD at dawn to get in and find your way around. It's a 180,000 acres of getting turned around. Best bet is Backdoor for action. Dress for wind, dust and cold, have food and drinks, be safe, and have fun.

Hey Kim , Dakota and I are going out tomorrow in the early afternoon then heading back towards Victorville to find a hotel. We are going to get up early and get back to the hammers on Friday. We will be on channel 22. The weather looks like it is going to be pretty nasty Thursday and Friday.

Grant
