Flat Rob looks familiar. Almost like I've seen him before. His posture, his wave, his socks. Hmmmmm.............

Oh, and I'm haunting this thread, even though I'm no longer in California.

Once again guys, I can't stress enough how vigilant we have to be this year. We need to keep an eye out for that damned Borrego Beast!

We don't wanna repeat of last year when ol' BB almost ate Pointy!

Dammit. Did anyone get a pic of the REAL beast? If not, I'm gonna run out to the campground and snap a pic of the motorhome moving, too many people complaining downright ugly *&^^@# and post it for Cain's photoshop pleasure.

Well Larry there are a few reasons why no one actually captured her pic. One, cameras are a bit pricey and no one wanted theirs destroyed. Two, it's bad enough to have that image ingrained in your mind let alone having a reminder to look at. And three, I'm pretty sure that she's just far enough outside the realm of reality that photographically she couldn't be captured.

I would however, like for the San Diego Parks and Recs Department to reimburse me for the gallons of eye bleach I went through as well as all the house of counseling.

Having said that...

The ADVON team (tiny, Mike and I) will be doing a Site Survey in the next week or so. We will post up all the particulars and findings once we get back.
I plan to take some pics and post up the GPS coordinates as well as directions. I'll also make note and post up any other issues that we may encounter at the site.

My only real concern is camp site security while we're away from base camp, wheeling.

Hey Cain how about a few toe poppers, some electrical wire connected to batteries and maybe a couple claymores for good measure
Now is it that bad? I know when we go out to Superstition or Ocotillo we have left our camp. Well then again times may have changed.
Whats this beast I'm hearing about?

The Chris Cains (or is that the Chriss Cain) came over today and we got my Jeep back together. Tomorrow I'm driving it over to their house to get the control arm bracket welded. Looks like I'm gonna make it after all......

Crap. I was hopin' that Brian would get despondent and part out his jeep (I like a few things on that rig). Oh well. Welcome back to the fold!

Ummm Thanks, I think.... Got the control arm bracket welded up today and it held on the way home. Now we'll just have to see how it does out in the rocks.

I'm looking forward to the M&G so much. It will be great to be out there with this group again. I believe the last time I went wheeling (that I drove) was at last years M&G. I can't begin to tell you how tough it's been to walk out into the garage everyday and look at my broken Jeep. Thanks to Chris and Chris for the motovation and help in getting it done. It felt great to be behind the wheel today, even in the pouring rain, without a top I might add.....

Oh yeah... To give us more room to work under the Jeep, we used my Cherry Picker as a jack.

Well, I don't know if you guys ever watch Huell Howser's California Gold or not, but it cracks me up! Ol' Huell is like a little kid EVERYWHERE he goes. Trust me when I say that he accounts for hours of entertainment here at the house. I'll go into my Huell Howser impression and Chris and Mikey chime in.

I was wondering if he ever did a show on Anza Borrego and sure as $hit, he did. I admit that I first watched this episode for new material to add to my comedic repertoire, but you know... I actually learned a few things. If you don't mind giving up and hour to set and watch, you'll see what I mean.

Hey DeepSea, looking at your info, you look kind of pale. I think the closer to the meet n greet the worse you may feel. You should start planning on a sick day or two.

Nasty crack! A good trackbar brace can help prevent things like that from happening as it braces the mount against side loads that can be enormous.

The first pic shows my first trackbar brace made by Jason Bunch at Tri-County Gear that braces it to the pumpkin. The second brace came with my axle truss from Superior Axle. I'd never run without a trackbar mount brace.

Incidentially, that first trackbar brace (the blue one) is for sale with three fresh new hardened mounting bolts that secure it to the diff cover.

Hey Jerry! That looks like just the ticket for Unlimited's rig.
I'll PM him about it. I like how beefy that thing looks and it basically
transfers those loads into the axle housing. Good deal Jerry! You ARE the man!!!

Hey Jerry... Since I bought the diff cover from you last year, how about selling me the brace to go with it? PM me with how much you want for it.

Any updates? Menu ideas? It's getting closer!!! Yippee. Do you have a head count? Man, I am getting anxious for this trip. I have not been camping since September.

We'll figure out the 'pot luck' soon. Cain and I are heading down to the site soon to get an idea of what we have to carry and exactly where it is for all the GPS carriers. This time no curfew for the campfire and we can noisy it up.

Grizzly, it was a blast last year. Get thee to the Meet and Greet.
